unfortunately this might be set in stone very soon. i would have much rather seen buick be killed off. or GMC. fucking pointless brand just rebadging chevy trucks and adding on to the sticker price.

yea they arent that good some are ok like the g8 i see a lot of pontiacs on the road tho compared to buicks, mercuries, and othershitty aemrican cars.

I would be very surprised if they dropped GMC.  I see tons of them where I live, GMC is really successful because people who want to look richer just buy GMC.  They need to get rid of Hummer no doubt, Pontiac sucks fucking balls (what American car doesn't?  Fuck Detroit and Obama).  maybe GMC needs to just put a hold on these brands.  Close the factory and when you have money, start the brand again, if you don't have money, fuck the brand.  They should keep the core brands open and close the less core brands.  Chevy, Saturn, and Pontiac should remain open and if you want a Cadilac, GMC, etc. then you can pay a lot extra and special order it.  Maybe that's a bad idea.  Or, GM needs to just go bankrupt so they lose the unoin contracts, start over, make good, reliable cars and stop paying employees so much.

Someone in my neighborhood has an original Hummer.  It runs on diesel and it is such a beast, so sick.  As surprising as it may seem.  The H2 and H3 were built very well (I don't know about quality) as far as offroad goes.  They had some really good elements built right into it for superior offroading.  Too bad 98% of those vehicles never touched the dirt.

I agree with some of your statement.  GM employees are overpaid compared to all other car manufacturer's with plants in the U.S..  I think If you count in the cost of all there benefits there pay comes to like somewhere around $60 dollars an hour on average. Most other manufactuer's pay a little more than half that. GM should not end completely though, because it would be too big of a shock to our economy.  We wouldn't be able to support that many unemployed and therfore we would be fucked.  They just need to continue this complete overhaul and the Unions need to comprimise, then we hope for the best.  I also beleive the bailout is a good thing, Chinese and Japanese governments have helped out there national companies to compete in the past.  The only difference here is that its to little to late.

hummers suck, but im sad to see saab go. they are such great cars, a little unreliable, but for what you pay you get a assload of a car. right now you can pick up an 08 9-3 sero for probs somewhere aruond 23-26k, you get a 6 speed, sick interior, all lether onstar, the fucking works. and its madddd fast.

as for pontiac, im semi sad to see em go, they just started making decent cars again, i love the new cobalt ss/ g6, and the g8 is soo sick loking! such a nice car for the money, same with the goat. id much rather see something like buick, or gmc go, they are shitty/old people cars/plain old chevys rebadged.

that being said, pontiac is GMs third highest seller, this is BS. I want buick dead, buick is the LOWEST SELLING BRAND OF GM

I like GM. its too bad they took the bail out money. my sisters husbands dad designs cars from them and knew the CEO that got fired by obama and he was a legit, good guy and had done a lot for the company for many years.(sometime you cant prevent everything....GM going into the red was inevitable with competition from overseas).

my friends family is pretty well off, but instead of getting an escalade or some shit like that they bought a suburban, but they have a family that consist of 6 people, and they are constantly driving down the shore to their house there, or to VT where there grandma has a house, if u ask me it sounds like they made the right choice for carrying all their children and gear and shit. Alot of ppl i see with suburbans use them for the right reasons
