Anything by Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club, Rant.)

Also Anything by Albert Camus ( The stranger, A Happy Death)

Im also a big hemmingway fan ( Old man and the sea, The Sun Also Rises)

Those will all severly mindfuck you especially the first two authors.

The Doors of Perception - Aldous Huxley

The Doors of Perception is Aldous Huxley's experience with mescaline. Its pretty rad its about the chemical compositions of our brains and how it affects are outlooks. It also talks about how our perception is changed.

Leadership and Self-Deception: Getting Out of the Box.

This book changed my whole perspective on how i view people and how I view my own actions. The story is so fucking good. If your in college, this book will have way more impact on you then if you were younger... check this shit out.

plus it has parts of socialism, corruption, and the disgusts of the meat industry all told throught the life of a immigrant, who brings his family to america

Into the Wild is my favorite book (and movie) but i didnt really think it was 'eye-opening' in the sense that the books being mentioned in this thread are... although the book and movie did change my life.

it doesnt matter what your opinion on the Vietnam War is but the memoir A Rumor of War is really good and can open your eyes to what troops experienced over there.

The Stranger, if you really think about what you are reading, while you read it.... will change your life. It is only 100 something pages.

Ishmael l... by daniel quinn is amazing as well. Basically makes you second guess everything you have learned about religion and makes you want to meet a telepathic gorilla. I have made so many people read this book since I read it.

Lost Horizon by James Linton - harder to find but makes you question a lot of things about life and how you are spending yours. It is pretty short but really engaging.

Angels and Demons was the best book i have ever read.  Even if you aren't into religion or history it is unbelievable.  Hands down my favorite book, and i have read a lot of books.
