you can buy weed in certain places, legally, in Holland and Switzerland.
And here in the UK an new law passed today, downgrading it froma class b to a class c. You can now smoke at home and can't get arrested for anything under an ounce. They will still confiscate it though.

You are wrong. Now, i cant check my facts right now but i believe it's Brazil (it a south american country for sure) which has legalized the recreational us of ALL drugs. Yes all drugs from weed to cocaine to heroine.

well here in ak they somewhat legalized it. your allowed to have up to 4oz in your home but your not allowed to sell it, buy it. fucked up but your allowed to have enough for 'personal use'

I am an american, i hate this country, our government flat out lies to us, our presisdent doesn't even lead the country, not to mention hes a dumbass cokehead. We comsume to much, we get into other countries wars, we interfear, and we somehow manage to be the wealthiest country in the world and do practicly nothing for our population as a whole. As a country we are grossly misinformed as to the worlds veiw of us, we constantly offend people with our arogance, and lastly we have failed to produce evidence to legitimize the war in Iraq.

I watched The Daily Show tonight, and the guest was Richard Pearle (Bush Cronie). The arrogance and flat out lies that were flowing from that guy were unbelievable. He was calling UN chief Hanz Blix a liar, saying that the UN approved the action against the Saddam regime...

He was talking about how to use Iraq as a hub in the middle east, and which countries needed the same treatment as Iraq. I shit you not. He was actually saying this on television, and this is the guy that is responsible for at least a portion of the Bush & Co spin of the world.

no president will ever support legalization, republican, democratic, whatever, none will go for it. there is not enough force for it to happen right now. one reason why an force is squelched is because big tobacco owns half of congress and it does not want it legal. also it is a to contraversal subject all together, legalizing bud will not be a very popular move when it comes to the electorate. i mean it makes perfect sense to legalize or decriminalize it so that the gov can tax the shit out of it, but the bottem line is it will not happen in this generation.

portugal has nearly no drug laws. they even have state-destributed heroine to help combat their growing drug problems.

as for legalization in the us, the problem, as stated above, is big tobacco. weed is something anyone can easily grow in their backyard and this would effectively destroy the tobacco industry. they will never allow for legalization.

who ever it was that said the thing about how a city cant be decriminalized with out the country. ur close a city cant but a province can ontario is decriminalized, and in vancouver the cops are very open about not caring about pot, i watched a show on it and this cop is like 'well its a waste of time to worry about one joint when theres real crimes goin on'

The only thing that I want to comment here is that people don't consider the full consequences of any legalization of marijuana in the United States... say, for example, that legalizing marijuana here would end up in the overthrow of about half a dozen south American countries by drug lords whose incomes suddenly triple? The American market would eventually take care of itself, but practically, until we started growing enough weed here to sustain ourselves, we'd just be putting more bullets into a gun in the hands of a South American crony.

^ actually it is more likely that those south american drug lords would be put out of business. legalization would mean lowered costs. importing it legally would be subject to tax, making profitablity low, while illegal importation would not be worth the effort given the lowered price.

as a side note, its not so much that marijuana is not a very harmful drug or that it 'should' be legal. the reason legalization is worthwhile is because the tax dollars spent fighting the so-called drug war could go to more important areas, such as education. furthermore, were the state to sell marijuana, whether directly or indirectly, the money raised could be used to combat more dangerous drugs like heroine.

Ok first, Mj isn't decriminalized in Vacouver, but nobody cares as long as you aren't driving high. In west van they have a couple of places with a sign on them that says ''Nature Bar'' and the windows covered in newspapers so you can't see in, and nobody bothers them. Also, they advertise hydroponics and stuff so blatantly on the radio it's actually funny...ie:
''For all of you with a (guy clears his throat) green thumb, this (product) has been serving (clears throat again) local growers well for years....get the best quality out of your product....etc. etc. etc.''. Oh yeah, I'm sure NOBODY got that that wasn't for weed. lol

Secondly, Atlantaski proves so frequently that he's completely out of it. I seriously doubt he could even define liberalism accurately, but he sure hates it. Pretty much half the south summed up in one post: Ignorance and anger.

I forget the guys the name whos involves with it, he goes all over the U.S. debating legalization between some other guy who is against it. They goto colleges and shit. Unfortunately, pot will never be legal in the US. Trust me if you hear this pot debate, the opposing side just out weighs the side that supports. There are so many more arguments you can make against pot than for it. And even if you there are a lot of arguments for pot in the US the oppossing will always have something to argue that point with. The debate is really interesting and if anyone has a chance to see it dont pass it up!
