and that's not BMX at all, its Trials. Please google both BMX and Trials to learn the difference.

also this is kinda mixing bmx and trials, some stuff is very trials but a lot is bmx-ish

thats what macaskill has been working on lately, if you watch his older vids it's all trials but now there's a lot of hucking stairs and doing more urban bmx

I kind of agree with you and you are deffff right about how it's trials but I would have to go with more trials but street mtb style seeing how a trials bike is more similiar to a street mtb than a tiny lil bmx. although he does ride similiar to bmx style i still think about urban/street mtb when i see that vid

the fact is it's easy for people to label this bmx. trials is well, boring to watch, and until recently mtb lacked super hard in street skills. the reason that this applies to sooo many people, bikers or not, is because of three things...

1. good editing, the piece doesn't drag on forever. Most trials parts get old after watching 40 lurches off of something, and bmx well, not many people have enough footage to go more than a song. but bmx vids are usually done over a shorter period of time, not 6 months. and there is no dead space.

2. It doesn't look like trials, there aren't a million boring little hops, like ryan leech's "manifesto", there are no set up or recovery hops, just constant movement. there is also flare added to every part, not just boring stock trials moves. a switch hop tailwhip is impressive to most, but so is doing a three over at least 20 stairs.

3. it effectivley incorporates trials elements, into something fun. instead of lurching up step by step a stair case, he blows up, blasts big transfers, and shows people what a bike is capable of, while not being too abstract to understand. people aren't going to go and try to balance on handrails because of this video, they are going to go and jump off things and ride their bikes, like bmx does, but this shows even more possibilities.

this is a great video. I hate trials but this goes to show that biking is biking, and when done well can be appreciated. just like watching someone do skids on a fixie, hucks on an mtb, or tailwhip to feeble to 180 down a rail on a bmx. art is art is cycling, or skating, or surfing. when you're good enough to blow barriers away from people that shouldn't be able to understand, you desrve some credit. even if it's just 4 threads in the nsg.
