Since 1999, reception towards the film has been so overwhelming—particularly towards Sam Horrigan's portrayal of Val—that a sequel has been in and out of production. Since 2006 the film's title has been Untitled 2012 'Val Project'. In an interview in 2004 Sam Horrigan mentioned that he has been writing daily on the project.
