I would absolutely love to demo a pair of these...I wish there was more info around the designs of the skis in terms other than camber.

For some reason, and I have no real reason to think this other than my own skepticism/lack of imagination, I feel like they would have durability issues or that the adjustable camber would "slip gears".

If that makes sense...

Great idea regardless. I'm one of those people that is really curious about rockered/early-rise/elf-shoed/reverse cambered skis, but who isn't quite sure that he would want to sacrifice traditional camber for typical EC days. I've been considering looking at rockered park skis, and if I could justify purchasing a pair of pow boards, they would DEF be rockered (if not totally reverse cambered). If they produced a fairly wide underfoot ski (saaaay 95ish up to 100) with adjustable rocker to suit pow days and playful buttery jib days...WHILE giving me the ability to charge epic EC groomers without feeling like I'm on noodles, or noodley snowlerblades for that matter, I would be fucking stoked.

Can't wait to hear more.

Concept skis with adjustable camber via cables have been around since the 80s. It'll be rad if this dude actually has the technology to pull it off.

wow thats a pretty cool idea. i could use something like that. it would make the idea of a one ski quiver a lot more realistic, but it seems like it might be heavier than most skis

jiminy crickets! i like this idea. there sight says that they will have skis available for the 09-10 season so we shall see.
i would be incredibly interested in demoing a pair.

There are a few people trying to do this right now, a few garage builders included.
I saw these guys on discovery channel. The skis look wicked, and they are really good riders too. They just shred everywhere jumping over eachothers tips and stuff.

craziness.  pretty cool idea I am just not sure how this is possible?  does the camber of the whole ski get changed or is it just certain parts?  does it not seem like if there were a cord running through the core from tip to tail, that the ski would somehow bend in half?  I can see it being possible but not sure of how sturdy it will be.

wouldnt they almost form into a reversed camber ski after a while? kinda like if you stand on your tips eventually youll rocker your ski. seems like after a while theyd lose camber.

it sounds like your two options are a soft reverse camber ski or a stiff normal camber ski. nobody wants a stiff ski though

Really good idea.
Very Interesting.
Buttt i have a feeling that they are probably going to have to have a couple of seasons of being made before he can perfect it, meaning that i think they are probably going to have some kind of problems the first 2-3 years making it like most companies. but it is definitly something id look into buying sometime down the road

i kinda remember a snowfix where they showed a ski like this but it had a clip like one from a boot on it. this seems a little sketchy but if he feels the need to send me some to test them out. so be it

But isnt there the risk that after a few heavy backseat landings, the whole system that adjusts the camber is going to fuck up, leaving you with a lifeless ski?

I think the main issue is the wear and tear on the actual camber mechanism..

Mike grew up behind my house in Rimouski and from what I've heard, he's been working his ass off to make his design happen. It's better to support a guy like him pushing new technologies rather than a big compagny.

This idea is great, but being a guitar player myself i would have to say i dont belive a truss rod could stand up to the abuse a ski would put on it. Hitting jumps and landing the wrong way would most likely bend the truss rod or "ICAM." I think the ski would have to be pretty stiff for this to work. It also looks the the tech is only used in the front of the ski, only allowing tip rocker. Sweet idea but, i dont know if its going to work. I guess well just have to wait and see.

Speak for yourself buddy.... Stiff skis are awesome, you can actually put some power into a carve, unlike the average flaccid twintip that is designed with zero regard for turn performance.
