Matchstick Productions 100ft. gap jump; Crested Butte
Jacob Wester, and Russel Henshaw were sessioning the hell out of this jump today at Crested Butte. The halfpipe was transformed into this massive 100ft. gap, where the jump was piled up nearly 25ft. tall. After watching the guys speed check from 1:00- 3:00 the weather finally cleared to where filming was actually a possibility. A small crew of 20 locals gathered and drank a few PBR's and watched as the Helicopter geared up. Steve Winter was filming out on the right side of the helicopter and made laps as many times as the skiers wanted. I stayed for maybe 2 hours after the guys started going and saw about 15 jumps go down each, between Russel and Jacob. I don't want to say exactly what the guys were doing but there were some nasty DOUBLES!! I guess wait till the new Matchstick movie is out!!!!!!!
I skinned up there too. The day we were there not much was goin down. Just some worm turn stuff and a few jump hits. The weather was iffy, but they left right when it cleared up instead of hitting the jump. Not sure why. The snowboarder stayed and killed it. That jump is massive.
