Can not decide AR6 or PCs

I am 5'10" 145 and i ski park only, im looking to get AR6s or pipe cleaners 181s. i ski rails 10% and jumps about 90%. what has a lighter swing weight, and i know the PCs are stiffer but where only in the tails??? i found a good deals on PCs and is there any diferance on last years PCs to this years thanky danky KARMA

i've ridden both, and it's gonna come down to your personal preference. i find pcs have a more snappy flex, and ar6s have a super smooth one. you can ollie super high on both, and they both work fine on big jumps. you only do 10% rails, but i think ar6s would be better for rails. i'm a bigger fan of ar6s, but again, it's your choice.

both are solid, and will perform well.

that being said, i would go with the ar6

Pipe Cleaners are a deluxe version of the AR6, but to keep them nice you need to baby them, not taking them into boney chutes or trees, not skiing them on rails, and keeping them super well tuned.

im basically between the same too except its more of the AR6 or chronic more than the pipecleaner but the pipecleaner is still up for discussion.

also would consider 4frnt TNK.

this year i skied about 10% rails/boxes 90% jumps

but i have a summer setup now so im probably gonna be hitting at least 25% more rails than this season next year

The main difference between the AR6 and the Pipe Cleaner is the race base on the Pipe Cleaner and the different/lighter core that is available on the Pipe Cleaner. While many people believe that the race base is weaker and more easily damaged this isn't true. The race base requires that the skier keep the ski in better condition but in no way does it make it less reliable. Actually the race base which featured on the Alpha 1 and Pipe Cleaner models is a sintered base is stronger than the extruded bases of the Tanner Hall, AR6 etc. Guys that I ride with are almost exclusive jibbers/rail riders and they prefer the Pipe Cleaner over the AR6. Thats not to say that the AR6 isnt a great ski, it is, but the Pipe Cleaner is just a lighter and faster AR6 that can be taken all over the mountain to destroy both rails, urban, park, and pipe. Just make sure you wax the base and take good care of it and the Pipe Cleaner will take good care of you.

4frnt is out....problems with durability being the main reason.

Chronics have had constant delam problems with the people i know...leaves the ar6 which sounds like its right up your alley....go ar6

PCs and TNKs are in the top 5 jump skis out there.  Either one is ideal for 90% jumps.  AR6 is also a great ski, but do yourself a favor and get the jump specific skis.  You will love the speed, stability, and sidecut.

Why is everyone saying to take Pipe Cleaners on rails if you want them to last? Armada has been using the same edge and same base thickness (2mm) on their pipe cleaners since the second year they made them. The only difference is the race base which is not soft, it requires you to wax it more often but that is all.

PCs for sure, i'm hopefully picking some up for next season.  they're expensive that's the only negative thing,

^^^ keep in mind

sintered 'race base' is way harder/expensive to repair.  you said 90% jumps so i wouldn't worry about it, but if you were gonna slam rails all day something to consider,

Because he is using them for 90% jumps.  Any ski can take a few clean slides every once in a while.
