DVD TO COMPUTER HELP???????

so iam looking to turn my dvd collection into .avi files on the computer but i am having troubles everytime i try: it ends up being in a video_ts folder with several documents. All i want to do is take the hard copy of the dvd and make it so its backed up on a external hd
-i have a mac
-dvd burner

+++++karma, if somebody can guide me through this

i dont know any by name but i think there are programs you can download to burn your dvds onto yours computer. i think maybe you can do it with itunes? not sure. sorry i cant help you more.

Im pretty sure he is using one of those programs, uhm I what I did was take the audio and video_ts files and burn it onto a black dvd.. then you can upload it from that dvd.. I know its a long process and Im sure theres an easier way but I dont know it..

the biggest file in Video_ts folder is the ''rough'' video file. its always around 600 or 800 mo.

get handbrake, add source, dvd, convert to whatever u want, done
