im taking it tomorrow, anyone who has taken it have any advice or can offer a little help? just wondering what to expect and shit like that...

If you're prepping for it now, dont. Cramming at this late stage is basically useless. When you get back your scores look and see what colleges you plan to go to take, and then see if you need to raise your score a little or a lot to get there. If its like 2 or 3 points cumulative to get there, its doable with study and a good book if you're diligent. Otherwise, get a tutor.

i took it once with out studying and got a 26, now im going back and studying what i need to study so i can take it again and hopefully boost that up a couple points

so dont stress about the first one, if you do good thats great, but if not it doesnt matter. just use the results from your first one to know what you need to learn

i got a 33 on my last try, too bad it wasnt necessary for any of the schools i applied to, my regular grades are also average

i have taken it once, and without studying a minute or looking at a single practice problem i got a 32...on the other hand i have a friend who has been studying and using an ACT tutor and all that, and he got a 29 on his second try...a huge portion of it is just luck

on the science section. dont read the info, read the questions first, they will basically, if not fully, tell you which graphs/tables to look at. and save the super long read experimental one for last, because that one you actually have to read, so it takes the most time.

this is good advice. if you read the tables first its useless

and pace yourself. keep an eye on the clock. a lot of people in my room had trouble finishing when i took it. dont focus too much on 1 problem, you can always go back to it

Don't spend too much time n a problem if you don't know the answer, because you don't have much time. If you are running out of time, fill in a random answer to the questions you haven't done yet because there is no guessing penalty.

and when you do guess, pick one letter and stick with it, dont just pick random letters over and over (unless you have some guess, then obviously pick whatever your leaning toward).
but if your really just filling in dots to finish a section because you dont have time to finish, pick one letter, like c and use that, statistically your more likely to get at least some right.

Just go in confident and rock it. Answer questions quickly and as best as you can.. I went in with 5 hours of sleep, finished early and did pretty well. I was going to retake it but my score was more than enough for any of the schools I was looking at, I had ~average grades in highschool but I didn't give a shit.. so I would say if you're a bright kid then you're golden.
