Propaganda in Schools

So in cooking class today my teacher handed out a brown envelope labeled "Election Information for Parents".

I open it and inside I find a ten page booklet on how the BC liberals have been doing a horrible job in keeping up their promises for more funding in education, with numbers, $ signs and statistics dotted over the paper. To sum it up, it pretty much rips on the Liberals and tells you to vote for the NDP. It doesn't say NDP anywhere on the pamphlet, but its pretty obvious what its trying to get you to do.

The pamphlet was made by the BCTF (British Columbia Teachers Federation) and sponsored by the Liberals.

So my question is, is/should this kind of propaganda be allowed?

my question to you is, why would liberals be funding a pamphlet slamming liberals? Makes no sense. If you mean to say slamming the conservatives, then I'd understand.

and in england at least, arent liberals the same as the right here in the states?  i mean, it may be different in canada but that could be the case.

I'm in BC too, we didn't get pamphlets or anything, but damn are the teachers into spewing their left wing propaganda. The BC teachers federation openly gives money to the NDP's. I've had so many teachers spew their right wing, vote NDP or go to hell bullshit. It's disgusting.

I really think there should be a law against propaganda at schools.

The worst part, is most kids believe all of it. I've been told "Oh, you like the conservative party? Then you hate gay marriage and marijuana!"

NDP's are super left wing


Liberals are central here, comparable to Democrat party


Conservatives are considered right wing in Canada, but still really left of the Republicans.

Okay, I don't think that people should be advertising in schools, but that is the least of the worries going on in the propaganda that actually occurs in schools.
You must be in  high school to be getting those things, so you are still too young to vote, hence why it says: FOR PARENTS. That means its not for you guys to read.
AND if you knew and understood the political history of BC you would realize that the BCTF is in the right when they say that they, as a union, should be voting for the NDP because Gordon Campbell's Liberals have screwed over BC in the public sector. E.g. cuts to schools, causing closures and overvrowding, also, cuts to public health care which is provincially managed by each Canadian province, with money incoming from the Federal government.
I am by no means telling you who to vote for BCers, because I know those of you in highschool probably won't be able to vote, but just to realize why the BCTF want change.
And if you are from BC,  vote for STV and change our political voting system.
