Breaking in grooves

I get a can of something... like hairspray, whipped cream, whatever and some sand paper. Tape the sandpaper around the can and go to town on your groove and backslide plate. Make sure they line up.

does it have to be rounded off? caz i was rollling around town and saw this ...maybe 1.5 to maybe 2 foot high ledge that was all concrete that i could probably skate on and use to break in my skates. its not round at all....

so for a while i was rolling without broken in grooves, it didn't really affect me much since i can only soul and frontside, and a little bit of mizou. But anyways, I was gonna go break in my grooves today, and when i rolled up to the little 4 inch high curb, of course I hopped on. So I know that when u grind curbs u have to grind them differently. How do i do this with frontsides? just tilt my skates back a bit more? o and everytime that i tried to grind on the ledge, i would just stick in the same place, and my momentum would launch me forward...
