Jon & his Oakleys

So... I apologize if this has been posted, as I searchbar'd it but nothing came up (I think I just don't know how to use the searchbar), but why is Jon wearing his Oakleys during racing? Anybody noticed this?

He said that because his new goggles are only prototypes and he doesn't want them getting wrecked from gates, he's rocking the oakleys in races for now
