TURF SKIING HELP PLEASE

okay i got a ton of turf, alot of soap and was stoked. then me and my friend covered the turf with soap, soaked it like nuts then towed each other down and hit a small rail. the turf slided terribly and we couldnt get half as much speed as we needed         HELP PLEASE WHAT DO YOU DO

use laundry detergent and make sure it gets really bubbly before skiing on it

idk if you have access but i set my turf on on a hill and cover it with dead, dry leaves. they slide a lot like snow and really fast

Get snowfence, it's a ton cheaper then snow gel and is wicked fast.

then try your local golf course.
if they have an artificial putting green you could ask when they re-do it.
normally its right around now.

try building a drop in if you do not have on already
i built mine out of a cabnet and afew planks of wood works fine
also if you get a junk hose you can poke holes in it and leave your water running for constant water speed

Yeah dude, build a fairly steep drop in if you live in a flat area. My friend and I have a sick summer set up and all we have is carpet and a drop in and it works perfectly.

yea, u could go with some plastic lattice. I bought mine from home depot for like 30 bucks. its pretty expensive, but u get a ton of speed. but u don't wanna have the plastic lattice the whole drop in and tranny. u wanna put some outdoor carpet or w/e for the tranny, otherwise u don't have a lot of control

Yeah, exactly. And with pvc for your rails, you can make anything. We built a Down Flat Down and a slew of other rails.

a lot of people dont know what thisis but trex-deck(idk about spelling) is like woob but it is covered in plastic and if u get it wet it slides really well. sorta expensive thought.

if there is a turf field being built near you, try to find some extra laying around.  there is usually a lot in the dumpster.  or just a junkyard maybe.

Both.
Take the biggest bucket you can find and mix together a ton of dry laundry soap and warm water until its super bubbly.
I think that works the best.

No it's not.  At my Home Depot, it's not above $1.50 per square foot.  Your Home Depot would not charge that much, it should be very close in price to what mine is.

i think you can buy it in like a box similar to a cerial(sp?) box
get like two of those and it should last you a little while

Heres a link to the turf stuff most people use- it has a little more grip than snowfence but might not be as fast. Personal preference

If you make your drop-in ramp like a ladder with pvc rungs than you will fly. The trannie should be made of turf though for grip

You can just have it right on top of wood.
It doesn't really matter.

Oh my bad.

Any home improvement store really.
Home Depot, Lowes, ect.

And just get outdoor carpeting, slides well but you still have grip.

make ribs underneath whatever surface you are using. take 2x4's and lay them flat underneath the turf every 12 to 18 inches and it will increase your speed a ton because it reduces the surface area of  the skis on the turf and you go faster

Very very true.    If you want really fast then just put tubes of pvc along the drop-in like a ladder. it works the same as the principles above except you are sliding on pvc wich has alot less ressistance.
