I am writing a paper for my World Politics class and need to come up with five questions that I would ask Lee Hamilton, who is Chairman of the Department of Homeland Security's "Future of Terrorism" Taskforce.

Anybody have any good ideas? wanna help me out?

How do  you justify warrentlessly spying on your own citizens through an unconstitutional act such as the Patriot Act?

Why hasn't the terrorist threat level dropped below yellow since 9/11 but we haven't been attacked again or even had a substantial enough threat to keep it there?

Do you really believe that a few terrorists were able to hijack a plane with only wire cutters?

What do you have to say about the fact that there was a NORAD drill on 9/11 pertaining to the exact same situation that actually happened?

Why did Cheney call off the air force when we found out the planes had gone off course?

The patriot act does use warrants, it's not warrant less

Terrorists hijacked the planes with box cutters (not wire cutters), and told the crew they were going to land the plane. It was standard policy to do what hijacker's say in order to save as many passengers as possible. 

And I think some of you FUCKING IDIOTS FORGOT,  Obama bin Laden admitted to 911 many times.  Research it.

Bin Laden was trained and funded by the CIA in the 90's and the bush family has very close ties to his family.  who's to say we didn't tell/force him to admit to it or that we dind't fund him?  So many laws have been passed since then and so much money has been made by the elites off of these wars since then. 

It was a fucking question.  Relax.  I don't want to hijack this thread just because a bunch of ignorant uninformed kids think I'm an idiot because my opinions break the mainstream opinion.  Freedom of speech mother fucker.

How can the most outrageously funded military, with more covert ties and agents in other nations than any other nation before, still not be able to find the one man who masterminded an attack that killed thousands of American citizens. the Bin Laden clan completely disowned Osama and sent him into exile in the 90s, I don't think that ties between the bushes and bin ladens have anything to do with attacks against america. though I don't deny that we did indeed train Osama and many of the militants we are now fighting, and we were in a position to arrest him and stifle the movement way before 9/11. but, our dumb mistakes.

you are right. i forgot about that. I was just pissed off at how everyone was jumping on my back for asking a few questins that I would like to get cleared up (see! i can admit when i'm wrong unlike some of you who hopelessly argue about nothing in particular).

To those you called me out earlier: yes, I am a so called "conspiracy theorist" but I don't like to call myself that because of the negative connotation that goes along with it.   I'd call myself more of a free thinker than a conspiracy theorist.  It's not like I go around claiming a reptilian alien species came to earth and planted us here who can shape shift and transport back and forth between the 3rd and 4th dimmentions.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with questioning the actions of your government. In fact, it is a healthy thing to do and our country would not exist if it weren't for people who questinoed authority. 

now how about some of you ask some questions and help this kid out with his essay?

Trained, no. Mujahedin were trained by Pakistani Intelligence which Bin Laden was a major contributor to in the late 80's during the Jihad against Russia. So Bin Ladens "men" or what would become Al Qaeda were trained by Pakistani Intelligence which was trained by CIA officials. It's a really complicated situation but this is the most simple way to put it.

Funded, ehhhh kind of. Pakistani intelligence funded two man individuals that later split from the Mujahedin. These were Massoud (later to be the Northern Alliance, Taliban enemy) and Hekmatayr (later lost control of Kabul to the Taliban.) We definitely funded the wrong people and gave money to people that would later become part of the Taliban and Al Qaeda. Especially since Al Qaeda is sunni, we funneled money through Pakistan into Afghanistan. We never directly gave money other than one reported meeting of where someone under James Woosley repotedly gave Hekmatyar $400,000 cash. We did however directly have Pakistan intelligence put stinger missles in the hands of Islamic Fundamentalists (the crazy guys that would later adapt to suicide bombing).

Also it is important to remember the scale of Bin Ladens family and their perception of his actions. He is highly outcasted by his family (which has well over 50 brothers and sisters of Bin Laden.)

It's a very complicated situation and we did give money to bad people, but we never actually gave Osama Bin Laden training or money directly, although it is very easy that he could have recieved stinger missles and funds from loopholes in our tribal warfare system, Pakistani Intelligence faulting, etc. I have done a lot of research on this topic and even met a UN correspondent who lived in Afghanistan for 2 years dealing with such issues. There's also a very good book that will explain mostly everything called Ghost Wars that I highly recommend everyone read.

there are some people that don't even deserve to live in this country (not saying anyone on here) but if you seriously think that your own government was behind something as horrific as 9/11...wow just wow.

i dont know WHO was responsible on 9/11. i honestly dont believe it was some evil Bush plot. i DO think that some of the shit that happened on and around that day doesnt add up, and should be questioned.

never said that. but there are some people that i know personally who rant about every single thing...doesn't matter their political affiliation, religion, whatever. they just complain and complain because well, no our country isn't perfect, find me one that is. but like i tell them all the time if you really don't like it here that much and don't appreciate everything that our country provides..then don't live here.
