So I was wondering, do you guys think it would be possible to double major in political science and hospitality management? I ask because i would like to do both, and then go to law school, and then hopefully become an fbi agent. the hospitality management is a fall back for when something doesnt go as planned.
This would be at UNH by the way.
id rather it was much different. my parents have both been unemployed numerous times in the insurance industry, the most recent of which was 4 years ago. since then, my father hasnt been able to work due to disability. our home business has yet to make a profit, and dive further into the red each month. my mom recently got a promotion, but no pay increase, just a nicer company car and a lot more traveling on the road.
my dad is going to work with me this summer at a restaurant because he is so bored.
im double major finance sociology and maybe throwing a mionor in political science in if i have the time its really not as bad if you think
first off if you double major you dont need a minor so say you need 6 courses for your minor you might as well take 5 more and get your major in it, thats an additional about 2 credits a semester or 2 hours a week more really not that big of a deal...good luck man and if worst comes to worst take an online course or summer course to get some shit out of the way
o yea make sure you get your distributions done man if they have them at your school and stay on top of your advisor, only really take the classes you need too, my advisor messed me up reall bad so i took so much shit i didnt really need now im stuck takin 16-20 credits a semester
but if done right its is not that much more difficult
most people dont graduate in four years anyways so thats nothing to worry about. if u want to become an fbi agent i think the best way to do that is join the airforce or something like that, and then once u serve your time you can get out and try to come up on that fbi job.
it would definatly be a very difficult thing to do but without a doubt it could be done. you will have to be taking like 21 24 credits per semester which can be pretty tough. its usually easier to double major when your majors are pretty closly related so they have somewhat close to the same core classes. but it could be done if you wanna do that. double majors are extremely diffficult and take alot of time. but if thats what you wanna do then you better go do it. good luck

Let me explain my reasoning.
I would like to become an FBI agent and I would get a degree in poli sci and then go to law school, and then hopefully into the FBI academy.
I that wouldnt work out, I would possibly have a degree in hospitality management (i know, but its more legit than you think) which i could fall back on, and in this job market, its always good to have a back up plan right?
Im rethinking this whole thing at the moment and trying to figure out how i want to achieve my goals. My first year of college is next year, but im going to be undecided because Umaine Farmington doesnt have a major that I want. I will transfer after my first year.
I will post more as i continue to look at options, but thanks for all of the help so far, I know that my degree choices sound retarded.
Alright, I have a new plan.
I think that I will go to UNH and major in political science.
Reasoning: This a pathway for me to go to Georgetown Law, which will help in becoming an FBI special agent.
Also, I will minor in Russian. Reasoning: Russian is one of the languages that the FBI lists as helping with becoming an agent. Ideally I would also major in this, but it isnt as necessary.
Should i become a FBI agent, and later in life decide that i dont want that career anymore, i could always use the law experience to work at a firm or someother place.
What do you guys think?
