I actually thought Sweden's vid was really good....I liked the throwback Swollen Members track...it felt like a nice little homage to the glory days circa Ski Movie 3: The Front Line
Skiing was very good...relied too heavily on doubles and other "wow" tricks though...as I suspected it would. I really prefer slower, lofty, stylish tricks over jaw dropping tech difficulty. I think the two of them sometimes resemble aerialists/gymnasts what with all the knee tucking and boot grabbing. I liked the pairing of a left and right spinner...it brought variety to otherwise similar tricks. I thought the mirrored trick shots were really effective, particularly the blunt 9s.
Getting the only real heli-shots in was a huge leg up....no matter how played out they may be, they just look so fucking good.
Not too many lifestyle shots...thank god. The little intro was pretty corny, but it was mercifully short. I was surprised that they had several "urban" shots....they looked good. NOT surprised that there wasn't a handrail in sight, hahaha.
Lastly, THANK YOU for doing a straightforward ski-porn style edit...when did skiers all turn into comedians? Any youtube search yields shitty Steve Irwin parodies and home-made remixes to terrible songs (Weird Al held down that corner of the market 20 years ago). It's the biggest contest of the year featuring the most talented riders sessioning some of the best jumps built all year. I, for one, don't want to see edits that are 30% (at least...USA was more like 70%) filler/sub-par comedy routines. Bring on banger shot after banger shot.
