i've heard that the rice thing works well. my friend said that when he went swimming with his phone in his pocket, he took out the battery and put them seperately into a bowl of rubbing alcohol and it seperated the water from the phone and battery and when he let it dry it was fine. might be risky with a computer though

That doesn't even make any sense... you sort of owned yourself there.
How was skipping skiing two weeks in a row to play on your DS for 14 hours in a row?

if it makes you feel any better I did that to my powerbook. Water was dripping out the bottom. I took out the battery and dried everything off and it still works.

Dude... do the rubbing alcohol thing. it works. My phone was at the bottom of a pond for five minutes while I looked for it in murky-ass water and it has had NO PROBLEMS since. Fuck man, you give a guy good advice... Why do you still want to fuck with Apple when you have a cheap, quick, easy solution? I don't get it...

It can't POSSIBLY fuck your computer up more, not using rubbing alcohol will fuck your computer up more. Rubbing alcohol is completely safe for computer components, water is corrosive. Any remaining water is rusting your components as I type this, and believe me, there IS remaining water because there's no way it evaporated by now. Good luck though...

Not disagreeing because I've never tried it, but does it evaporate as quickly? I donno, I use rubbing alcohol for fucking everything so I'm partial to it. I have huge jugs of it in my room at all times.

yeah i can hear it run and all that good stuff...but the screen shows nothing no color or anything...i figure i might as well send it to apple and see if they can fix it...cuz it charges and the light in the front is on.

yeah at this point that would be ur best bet, if they call you out on water damage you probably wont be any worse off than you are now besides postage

yeah exactly what i might do is take it to a computer place that fixes macs and ask if there is possible signs of water damage.

The good news is the screen is replacable. Even if the warranty wont recover it you could shell out a few hundred and get it replaced professionally.
