Hey all,
I wanna climb some shit this season. I'm thinking that once resorts closed, it would be sweet to try and to a peak a week, day hike style, until the snow runs out. I'll definitely be in, and the locations will probably be scattered around to keep it all fresh and new. Minimal BC gear will be needed for most of these climbs; I have some shitty trekkers and skins, but I hope not even to have to use those for most of these. All thats required to join are:
- Some skis
- Boots that you can hike in (even REI has rental hardboots that would be good if your boots arent the best to cut steps in)
- A good attitude
The ascents we will be doing are going to be low avy danger, if any (knock on wood), so these hikes will probably be doable for most people who just want to make the season last longer, even if it means some effort.
Here are the places I've got lined up, and the list will undoubtedly change and shift with suggestions and conditions.
Ruby Mountain
Mt Pilchuck
Headlee Pass / Vesper Peak
Mt Adams
Mt Rainier
Post if you'd be willing to do a few with some random internet people, suggestions, comments on the idea...

We skied from Muir today. Long slog in my ski boots. My mother approved this outing and posting.

can you skin from the parking lot still or do you have to bootpack to the snowfield?

You can skin from the parking lot, but there is one section that is way steep and has no switchbacks in it.
