Gaming Laptop

Need a laptop for school and I want something that can also play games decently. I'm a casual gamer and just need something that can play recent stuff and would be easy to upgrade later. I dont want to spend too much considering that I'm a broke college student so a grand is my limit.

well how far back do you consider not recent? any new laptop you buy nowadays will be able to play older games.... even like an intel gma 4500 will be able to play most older game.

You are much better off buying a desktop for  grand.  Laptops at that price don't really have the power to play recent games (cod5) very well, and you can't really upgrade them much.  Processors, ram, and and hard drives arent too hard to upgrade in a laptop, but the most important piece of gaming hardware(in modern games), the GPU, is nearly impossible to upgrade.

dude, dont even worry about a laptop.. get a cheap 400 dollar laptop to use all the time for work and then buy a desktop for gaming and everything else in your dorm...

build your own top of the line desktop that could beat any fukin mac or dell or some crap you can think of for like $800.... www.newegg.com

I love building.  I managed to squeeze out a nice rig in july and its only lost 20% of its total value over time.  Im waiting for Intel's i5 lineup for my next total build.

I think I"m going to wait until the summer before I go to school and see what sales are on. if I cant find anything good, I"ll probably get a desktop. Thanks for the advice.
