Most played out ski edit intro?

what do you think is the most played out intro to any ski edit?


for me its a toss up between slo-mo, out of focus shots of snow falling and trees slowly focusing in on either the tree or the mountain behind it...

or

fast-mo shots of people driving to the mountain and people going up the lifts etc.

i agree with the thread creator. i think the coolest thing is when they do big skits and stuff to introduce everyone like they did in High Society. That whole thing with the brief case seems so f-ing awesome to me at the time

Everything has already been done, something everyone should think about when trying to be "original".

This is why the best mindset when editing is being true to yourself/crew to "personalize" the already played out methods, because in reality there is no such thing as being original, it's just bringing your own flavor to the ABD. (already been done)

With that being said, cheesy home-made style hip hop editing is the least flavorful thing in skiing because it's not personal at all (unless you can back it up like Mick D). Eventually people will realize this and stop making edits as if they are in a real gang and run the streets.

the best is like a combo of the real time intro with flashing lots of ski life related shots and also life of a skier shots  funny stuf you do pre/post skiing good way to start if you ask me

Doubt that. There are infinite amounts of possibilities. You either have to be random, ridiculous, super creative, or a combination of the three. You could do anything, it just wouldn't necessarily be good.

omg a thread that really allows me to say what i have been feeling and to depict my disgust in the shit i see on this sight now adays!

the bird and flashing your fingers and gangish signs with your hand gestures and shit get me so pissed. soon as i see that i lower rate vids. ya look like morons and it just really bugs me. sorry might just be me but thats what i think is super played

im sure everybodys thought of that. ive only seen it done once in the first tricktapes video but i dont think too many people would wanna put themselves out on the internet like that.

but yea, coming up with a different and more orginal intro for a ski edit would be really hard to do. my favorite is when a video starts off with a banger trick or if a video starts off with something funny but short to get me in a good mood before watching the video.

Yea that really bothered me for a while, so I went my own route.

The intro to my next edit involves a small american flag and a green action figure. There are plenty of ways to start an edit.

what intro techniques are not played out?
I'd say animation could be used more, as well as "hollywood" intros where there is kind of a storyline and mystery.

theres a skatespot round philly called dead cat, named after the discovery of a dead cat in the area.

that said, introducing a ski movie with something along these lines would result in a box office smash...

dead dogs are way gnarlier than dead cats.  especially ones who had become driftwood.
