"At what elevation do deer turn into elk?"

A woman asked me that on the lift at Big Sky yesterday! WTF!

Her: "at what elevation do deer turn into elk?"

Me: "actually deer and elk are different animals, we have deer here too."

Her: "hmmm.... no deer turn to elk at a certain elevation to adapt."

Me: "Really? Wow I didnt know that."

The remainder of the lift ride was silent. I was totally baked when this transpired and I have no idea how I didnt break out into laughter infront of her. It definately made my day though!!

you see deer are much like pokemons.. when you give them an earth stone, they transform to elk. the thing is that these stones can only be found at 4 500 ft. now with an earthstone and a moonstone you can turn your deer into a cariboo. that is they way to go if you ask me.

I used a water stone on my deer. It evolved into a whale. It was pretty fun until its skin got really dry and then it made a funny noise when it breathed for about a week. Now its dead and me and my friends have a new clubhouse. I tried to invite lindsay the troll to come over and play but she didn't feel like it.

Sorry to call you out, but statistics point to more around the elevation of 7,000 feet. 

But elk are amazing animals, surprisingly big (because I'm so familiar with the size of a deer), and the sound of the cow and bull communicating across a valley is surreal. Beautifully spooky.  I've been hunting with my dad for them a few times in MT, but haven't gone back in a few years.

yah well exima is the number 1 cause if premature death in deer turned elk... allways use lotion or your whale could get flaky and die!

surprisingly, this is a fairly common misconception held by gapers visiting mountains everywhere.  i used to hear it all the time when i worked in rocky mountain national park.

Thats alright.  We must strive to educate ourselves about the diverse world we live in and the magical opportunity we have to share this planet with the wonderful creatures that roam free beside us.  DId that sound cheesy enough?  I really do love elk though.

well see the elk are bread for their skills in magic. The definitely are amazing animals i once spotted one levitating out of the forest and once it spotted me it landed and tried to play it off like it wasn't levitating!

have you ever seen an elf riding an elk?  they form a symbiosis that is essential to life in the forest.
many elf/elk teams are famous for fighting crime and protecting the good of the people.  it is said that Jason Statham learned all that he knows from an elf and elk.
