theyre done now but slotstik makes my favorite boards.. i have a slotstik pro vac and i wouldnt trade it for anything (and i used to own a vic poly vac, and have used my friends' exiles and slotvacs). its the board im using in the pictures in my profile

i rip a wavezone ive had mine for like 4 years and its still legit and i beat on it...
get a stomp pad too makes riding the waves much funner and easier to whip the board around + looks fuckin bad ass...
get the advanced series

JJ great video

wow, the dash point scene has certainly blown up. That is impressive.  I used to skim there all summer long if I wasn't wakeboarding. I grew up on fox island near by and would take our boats over there for low tide. This was circa 98-02.  The rails and sliders back then were no where near that!  Props to all the kids that are keeping it alive, and progressing like  hell.

Dash isn't the best for break riding/ surfstyle skim, but for skate style, the pitch of the beach and the channels are hard to beat. great video

yeah i have a zap wedge right now, and its getting a little small and i have pretty much maxed it out for wave riding. i cant even get it to plane in 4 inches of water anymore.

once you starting getting in to the mid $200, it's pretty hard to find a bad board...
the Wavezone advanced series looks SICK to me. 
but you can't really go wrong with a vic.
do a little research (googling) and you should be able to narrow it down.

i gotta say i really love my friend's exile a lot... every time i use it i like it a lot. basically once you get to a certain level of boards (high end vics, slotties, exiles, zaps) theyre all really nice boards and its down to personal preference. to tell you the truth i think it has the most to do with just getting used to your board. i know when the conditions are good i dont wanna use anything but my own board because you get really used to how it planes/rides/reacts blah blah blah. so what im saying is dont worry too much about it, do a tiny bit of homework, make an educated guess on what would fit your needs the best, and get that bad larry cause youll definitely love it. oh also maybe check out skimonline.com, its a great site and used to be my NS (it is skimboarding's NS). i havent been in a few years but im sure its still kickass so if you have (good) questions maybe try em out over there. oh and send me a PM if you have any questions i can answer

Well, be careful about making a new thread on somb you might get flamed. Anyways i ride a sol (small board company in florida) and it's got plenty of float to get those hard to reach waves and enoyugh maneuverability. And am i the only one thinking of making a skim cult?

Yo, first, for anyone that says you can't hit waves anymore on a wedge, run faster, unless the water is like 3 feet deep you can still kill it, but it is a hell of a lot better to have a bigger board, no lie. I have a victoria poly vac, large i think, maybe ML but i weigh like 160 so it's not a big deal. It's such a fucking sick board, the speed is amazing and you can get so far out, it's just too bad more people don't know about it.

yo so i live on a golf course, and when it starts to rain hard, theres some GNARLY shit on it.  All those bunkers-sandtraps, and hills with shitloads of rain coming down make some fucking intense skimboarding.
one time the river overflowed, and there was sitting water there for like a week or two, shit was so ill
