What i find can make the site work slower is because of the stationary backround, try changing your connection speed to "Dial up" in your inbox and see if that helps.

And why does everyone on this site have to be such pricks at times?

Look we recognize that the more fancy background has made the site a bit slower. That was a pretty concious decision, and we added the connection speed choice for just that reason.

If you want to speed up the site, do two things in your account tools:

1) Set "Net connection speed" to the lowest.
2) Set "Enable the Fancy Editor (GUI)?" to NO

If you want the site to look more like classic NS, on the same page pick:
3) "Page Justify" to left
4) "Enable Thumbnails in Picture Galleries?" select NO

And if you want to get even crazier:
5) "Show Cover Page" = no
6) "Show quick facts when logging out" = no

You'll be back almost all the way to classic NS in no time!

We just liked the new layout. The GUI coudl certainly use some work though, its got some fucking pesky slowdown issue that we haven't been able to track down yet.

Personally I'm stoked at where we've come to. Sure there's improvements to be made, but the site has come a long, long way.

its so sick seeing all of the retro ns and how it was like. I agree with the idea of having a retro day but I think its might not be possible. The codes are probably not there anymore so its wouldnt be doable.... holy fuck its 1 in the morning and I have to get up at 6 tommorow to go kayaking for school and im still on NS!!! im going to bed!
