Anybody taken the series 7 exam?

hey guys...
so i got a job as a financial advisor and i need to get licensed with the series 7. I have to take the test in a little over a month and I'm wondering if anybody else has had to take it and how hard it was and just your overall comments.

anything is appreciated if you've taken it. thanks

It's not the easiest test in the world but I wouldn't quite compare it to the CPA exam, medical boards, the bar exam, etc. I don't know what kind of background you're coming from and what kind of grades you got in school so its kind of hard to say how "hard" the test will be for you. If you were a straight a student, I'd say study a lot. If you were an average student, study your balls off every free second you have until you take the test. Good luck bro.

and i mean i can go in and ask my boss questions about stuff but there's no formal prep class, it's self study instead. But he told me what he thought about it and said it wasn't that bad especially if my major is finance. I guess I'll find out but i was just hoping I could get another opinion because i'm kind of nervous about it.

Yeah, i'm a finance major so I've covered/learned probably the majority of the stuff. Thanks for the input though, I think I have my work cut out for me.

you should be sitting with a pretty good base if you were a finance major. I haven't taken the series 7 (im an accountant), but one of my good buds from undergrad majored in biology and then ended up landing a job after college as a financial advisor. he studied pretty hard for a few weeks and passed it his first time. you definitely aren't up against the impossible. just remember, you can never study too much though. better to study more than you really need to than to be kicking yourself in the ass after the test because you didn't study enough.

fair enough, i really appreciate the advice and everything man. It's just tough because I'm still in school (graduating this may) and I'll have to balance the 2 and take the series 7 exam 2 days after my last final. Not the best timing haha

no problem bro. that sounds like a shitty way to have to spend second semester of your senior year. on the flip side though, its way easier to study for something like this after you've only had a couple of classes in a day than it is to study after you've worked an 8 or 10 hour day. best of luck man.
