Poles or no poles?

I'm guessing that this may have already been answered, but what the hell. How useful are poles nowadays? I personally don't like poles, but that's mostly due to the fact that I ski manitoba. Tow rope is king here, and poles usually get in the way. But now that poles aren't needed for carving most of the time, what's their new purpose?

you know what, disregard this thread. I was a total fucking moron for creating an already common thread topic and the few people who are pissed about this are making my karma bite me in the ass. i was not impressed with qdoba, at all.
it was pretty good, but really americanized, and expensive.

anyone like baja fresh?
i grew up with them (LA)
when the got bought by Wendy's, it started going down hill.
now it sucks.
