Maine Alcohol Laws

So this winter I was visiting Colby college i went to Hanniford and "hey buddied" a guy for two handles of svedka. I guess the ladies working there were a little suspicious, because just when I was about to leave, the cops rolled up and asked to search my vehicle. They said they could impound if I didn't let them. I was a little high so I got scared and opened my trunk. The took the handles and gave me a possession underage. I have a court date in two weeks and I want to know how to get the smallest possible sentence.

i was charged with assault while i was drunk (over 21)  at colby too...and they dropped the charges to disorderly conduct, so i had it cheap. u just gotta suck their dicks and say how dumb it was of you...thats my best advice. come early that day too so you can talk with the d.a maybe...? thats all i can say...oh and tell em i said hi.

what was their reasoning to search you car? she called the cops and said someone is buying alcohol for someone underage, you better come search his shit? i dont think that should fly, but then again, i dont know shit

it didn't help that i was drifting a little in the parking lot, because they dropped three potential reckless driving charges because i was so upfront with them. im gonna try for community service or something like that.

if it's your first offence you will get the minimum anyway which is like 200 bucks or some shit. but if you got transportaton you will get the fine and lose your license for 30 days. this is just speaking from my experience. maine cops can be a bunch of dicks sometimes.

your first mistake was "hey buddy-ing"" at hannafords. they are so fucking anal up there about selling booze. they call the school to cross check your registered birthdate so you cant use a fake.

Wow that sucks, I dont know how the law works in Maine but here in Montreal it's the person buying the alcohol for a minor that gets in trouble. You probably shouldn't have parked so close to the store though! Still sucks though, hope it all works out for you and you get hit with any serious penalties.

I live in vermont and if you alcohol in your trunk, as long as it's closed up, you are considered a transporter if you are 18. No worries at all. In maine, on the other hand, you need someone who is 21 to be in the car with you, which is why I got fined for possession. I assumed that I would be fine because I though the same transporting rules applied.
