resting your skis

I'm a newbie when it comes to twin tips so I was wondering how do you guys rest your skis? Cuz the general rule when it came to old school skis was to not rest the skis on your tips. But when it comes to twin tips, they are freaking tipped on both ends. I've got plastic tip protectors at the front of my skis, but the back of the skis have a square end. so what's the new school rule? other than that there are no damn rules?

actuallaaaa if you can rig up some way to support them upside down hanging from like a sling or something in the garage, then they will definitely last way longer- half the reason everyone's AR5's are breaking is cos they dont give a fuck about them- you gotta treat em good, like any other ski, especially if they are relitavely un-advanced
think what you will, but english skiers will takeover one day...

even simpler, place them on their sidewall on a mat or sumthin, jus dry em off first

Ride with your skis on into the lodge, or base area or whatever, click out by jamming the back of your foot into your bindings, and then just walk away. That's the best way. The tips never even touch the concrete.

Nah, you don't need to worry about standing your skis upright. As long as you're not dragging them on concrete or throwing them around, they'll be fine. I just lean mine up against a wall with the tails on the ground.

we have this wooden ski rack on the wall. it looks easy to make though. its pretty much just a board against the wall with two wood blocks connected to it looking like this \/. U put the tip in it and it holds it up. just leave enough space between the 2 blocks so that u can fit ur skis between it.

just lean them on a rack. Its really annoying when theres a ton of snow and you set them down and they seperate cause of the tips in the snow.

man... throwing your skis around is almost a sport on it's own.

don't think placing your skis on the ground tails down will hurt the ski anymore than eating shit off... well, anything.

i'd be more worried about the ski exploding on you from crashing. A ski is more of a tool than a ski anyways. you can use it for a seat, a shovel, a weapon, a bat, anal probe, flat surface for when you gotta do a line on the hill (wait, scratch that one...)

ok, here is what you need to doo.

You need to rig up some sort of contraption that will hold the skies by the breaks alone and keep the rest of the skies untouched, then your going to want to make some sort of pully system to suspent them up in your atic, cus its warmer up there and thats better for your skies. now make shure that those plastic tips are covered in padding before you move the skie cus as we all know they will fly off with the slightest presure.

this will keep your skies mint so you can hit urban rails much much better.......

thanks guys for the tips...which leads to a followup on what someone mentioned above. My skis are all scratched up (i.e. I've taken mini chunks off of the tops of my skis...but it hasn't gotten to the core of the skis). Is there some filler material that can be used to round off the sides so that the tops and the sides are smooth again? Dump in extra wax? It's a cosmetic thing...my skis still go great.
