Replying to So I saw the GZA in concert
He was opening for Girl Talk at Cornell University. Girl Talk was AMAAAZING in concert, but as a hardcore wu tang fan I felt really hurt and weird. The GZA may have been really high or something, but he kinda stood around, skipped some of his lyrics, and looked like he didn't want to be there. This was reinforced by his consistent checking of his watch and his on stage discussion with a stage manager during the concert. I went to the concert mostly to see one of musics amazing lyricists, and was mostly disappointed. Was he dissapointed himself that after 20 years of hard work, he's opening for a mix artist? Is he sad that despite his dedication and hard work to make quality lyrics, his music isn't mainstream and purchased to the same extent that crappier, lower quality rap is? Or was he just not feeling it? I didn't know, I want to know, but all in all it was a sad day for wu tang fans.
