Last season it was the double flips. This year it was the double corks. Next Year Henrik Harlaut is gonna blow up like hiroshima and throw down the first triple cork!. This G is the only athlete who prolly has the talent. execution. balls. and style to execute such a trick. For example Henrik threw the most steezed out switch 1620 one's mind could possibly imagine. Plus if you have been watching the JOSS videos/blogs, the id is practically reverting himself when he does his double corks. The kid spins soo fast with soo much style that the triple cork is bound to be the trick of the 2009/10 season!

It'll have to be on a jump the size of the JOI jump. Maybe bigger. Jesus I can't even imagine a triple corked 12/14.

you can do a double cork 720, so technically you should be able to do a triple cork 1080, i think

actually a triple cork 12 would be sketchy since it would be a cork 3 to cork5 to cork 5... not realy possible most likely a triple cork 1620 would be the most probable but spinning a triple cork 1620 is quite something.

in my eyes corks are just not he same thing as what the aerialists are doing. I mean, they just huck themselves and do as many flips and spins as possible, but i don't think i've seen them doing corks/bios before. But a triple cork 14 should be quite possible. I mean, they're doing double cork 10s, and 14's are another 540 degrees.

Meh, semi decent point. Although how long did it take from the start of single flips such as rodeos and d spins and corks to go to doubles? approximately 10-15 years? It's gonna be a little while before something like that happens, but it will def be shorter than 15 years. I'd give it 3-5 years.

if triple corks every come into play with skiing period i will be severely disappointed. i understand dub flips/corks. and i do agree with previous posts that aerials are completely different from doing multiple spins/flips with grabs. but it just seems like if triple flips every happened that people are thinking oh well dub flips are old might as well move on to triple flips? when theres other things to do or go with with skiing.

just because there are other ways to push the sport doesn't mean that we shouldn't push it this way.

the sport will continue to expand in all different ways. the development of triples won't hinder development in other ways.

i understand that. but see the point is that leaders of the sport should find out another way to push it (maybe in a more creative way) then to just say oh lets go right on to triples. i enjoy watching lolo because of this. he focuses on more stylie grabs, and corks then see how fast he can huck off a jump.

I see the sport moving more in the direction of bigger spins/flips with handrags. More prejump style and spinning. Also, alot more shifties and double grabs.

I can see Henrik doing a triple cork though, if the jump is right.

i agree that the leaders should encourage more creativity, but what it comes down to is that competitions depend largely on technical difficulty.

what gets to me is people who are saying that 3's and 5's should be winning competitions because they're stylier. a slow no-grab 5 belongs in a film segment and should never win a competition, no matter how dope it is. style is just too subjective to be judged. who's supposed to decide that a gorilla cork 7 is 'stylier' than a pencil 7 off the same jump?

that's not to say that triples are the only way to push competition skiing. as was mentioned earlier, things like handdrags and shifties can definitely be objectively judged in a comp.

i think progression of jumping will slow down soon enough.. rails still have a lot of untapped potential.

aerials isnt skiing, honestly its not, a majority of the skiers on the world cup cant even ski. Whistler has to put in a new $2mil lift because members of the chinese team cant ski down the blue run above it. ITS BULLSHIT there was a girl at USSA nationals that had only been skiing for a year, they taught her how to go down the inrun, and ski away and stop and because she was a gymnast she could do the tricks. FREESKIING WILL NEVER BE THIS. triples will be thrown, its a fact get used to it. dub flips are being done with more and more style every year. But if its not your thing its not your thing, thats why theres a FREE in FREEskiing. Your style your choice. I want to land one then decide if their for me. I love slow stylely stuff too but it dosesnt work in competitions, if your not gonna throw above 9 then ur a film skier, and theres nothing wrong with that at all.....BC would be more fun anyways.
