devil wears prada blows!!

black dahlia murder is always a great show, but if you like devil wears prada, i suggest seeing ETID, best shows in that genre ever.

JFAC is pretty good but go to some websites and try find local bands see if they're good. meet one of them and ask their oppinion of music. Most of the time mainstream is much worse than local bands. look up after the burrial, veil of maya, and liferuiner. If you go to aliferuiner show and your in the building you will be in the mosh pit getting killed... Good times.

Any of those bands use that voice-altering shit to make their screaming scream-ier? I love metal when it's Metallica-esque, but that stupid screaming voice grates on me real quick.

Job for a cowboy and the acacia strain are so fucked up. All of their music is just disident noise. Now, I'm a metal fan, but I prefer a band that has a fair amount of vocals, and actual skill on the guitar/drums.

Bands like Opeth, InFlames, All That Remains. Not bands from Worcester mass that thought they could get far by making a TON of noise and using the most brutal voices they can muster. Sorry but that's just my opinion.

yeah i get what you mean. but i do listen to some stuff with a lot of screaming like Lamb of God, Necrophagist, but sometimes i can only take that type of screaming for so long, but the music behind it kicks ass.

Plus, real hard core and real metal are TOTALLY different.

I'd say the black dahlia murder and the newest album from JFAC are pretty metal. most of the bands mentioned is deathcore though, which has some good bands. but the majority just consists of chuggachugga breakdowns with pig squeling produced and played poorly with no originality whatsoever. the red chord and gojira are the shit. as is a life once lost's newest album

ive seen All that Remains, As I Lay Dying, Chimaira, and Haste the Day all in one show, also my first metal show ive attended, was sick.  saw a few more after that (ATR, Divine Heresy, some of these emoish hardcore bands) then i went to warped in denver, i find scene kids very annoying after that but was decently sick

everyone is bitching in this thread because everyone is talking about  different genres of music. i guess id call tdwp metal, but not a day to remember. adtr is like one of my favorite bands, but theyre not metal/hardcore, theyre like pop core/pop punk. as far as harcore goes none of the bands talked about are hardcore. when i think of hardcore i think of have heart, verse, etc. and none of the bands listed are from worcester either, not that it should matter, MA has a great music scene.this thread is going to go no where because everyone gets worked up about what falls in what category

mr funny guy here! dont tell people what bands are lame and shity... I think your hardcore is lame and shity but I dont tell you( now I did but just to make a point) opeth by the way is way more technical than any of the bands you have named. just because its not fast dosnt mean its not technical. Also all of the songs instruments are written by the singer from a to z. so dont go saying they blow because everyone should be able to apreciate something like that even if they dont like the style. Fuck I think protest the hero is the gayest thing ever but fuck they are good! if I was into that music I would love them. dont go hatin on everything that dosnt match what you like

im seeing bring me the horizon on wednesday. i love them despite the large majority of people that hate on oli sykes.  and emmure is pretty brutal. they are on tour now with winds of plague.

i would agree. i dont know, like some songs are pretty good off Suicide Season - the comedown, chelsea
but Count Your Blessings has pray for plagues, braile etc.
