I'm going tomorrow, how is it this year?  Better?
Also, has anyone skied The Plunge?  I wanna know what it's like.

Well i was up there in Feb for a day and was one of the first people to "ski" the plunge..... They had just winched it and it was nothing but a sheet of ice NO JOKE... pretty deadly. couple turns and straight-line it to get speed to get back around to the front. Their park was alot better than I expected they had 3 jumps and an assortment of boxes F-D-F, Up Down, Flat Down, don't really remember the specifics but i had a good time. Its nothing like Spirits park but definitely a good time with some fun features.

Honestly I'd skip the plunge, it's not worth the 1/2 mile skate back around the cat track.

I was fortunate enough to get a snowmobile tow back from the ski patrol!

Oh, and the park was pretty fun this year. Not sure what the conditions are like now though.

The Plunge is a joke!  I was there for the first time 3 weeks ago.  The cat track out is just awful.  If you are going to ski it, makes sure it's your first run of the day while it's still iced over on the cat track if it's slush you're in for a long ass walk!

There park was weak!

Mogul runs were awesome though!

haha, I got a snowmobile tow up to the Plunge from patrol because Cascade lift was broken!  I thought it was fun, but kinda short.  I didn't have to skate much on the way back, only about 50 feet, and the rest was just bombing the catwalk.  The gondola was closed, so we had to skate back to the bottom of Eagle anyways.

Yeah, it was weak and wasn't weak at the same time.  The jumps were pretty good, but it was kind of hard to get speed for the second ones.  They have a lot of nice rails and boxes, but they don't really know how to set them up.  A prime example was the trap box.  They had the kicker about 2 feet away from the box, and instead of shooting you at the same angle as the up part of the box,  it shoots you directly at the box, as if it were supposed to be flat.  Also, it looked like no one had bothered to come fix the kickers in over a week, because they had huge ruts in them where everyone went.  I told the liftie though and he said he'd tell the park guy.

Yeah they were!

But only in the afternoon after they softened up a bit.  They were death in the morning.
