I haven't flown Southwest in a few years but that is why they are one of my favorite airlines to fly with. They try to make things fun and generally are so laid back.

A lot of people say they don't like them and have had negative experiences with them, but I've had nothing but the opposite. I've had a pilot crackin' jokes the whole time, interrupting us during the in-flight movie just to tell us about a cool bird he almost hit. Random stuff like that just to loosen up the environment. Too many people are just pissed off during flights. Strike up a conversation and loosen up!

Word me too, and their flights are priced to move.
Only bad thing is the lottery seating system sometimes. My and my girlfriend had a flight and couldn't even sit together cause we boarded near the end, at least it was only Denver to Seattle.

I hear they don't do that anymore. Or at least it's a twist on the way they used to do it a few years ago.

But I loved the way they did seating. I have no problem going to an airport early and sitting around. For some reason I just love the atmosphere of the airport; so many people, so many stories, I guess I'm just in to that.

But next time, I'd say just ask a person if they wouldn't mind switching seats. I've done it so many times. Most people are cool with the idea.

that may just make me want to fly southwest the next time i fly instead of shitty ass us airways. One time i flew from pittsburgh to boston on a flight with i think its called ted. but anyway it was so sick they had live tv on each seat

i wouldnt fly those bargain airlines in these days. i have talked to several flight attendants from different airlines including southwest. continental for example has 2 mechanics and the 1st officer check the entire plane before each flight. southwest does it once a day (most planes have at least 10 flights daily). thats why the airfare is so low, because they dont maintain current planes or retire older planes as often as the bigger more expensive companies. continental is where its at

i do believe you about the fact that the budget airlanes may not check there shit as much but i think its actually the opposite with the quality of the planes, whenever i fly united,continental,or american they're are always shitty old ass planes but i flew jetblue last week to salt lake and it was a brand fresh new plane

Haha, it was sick as hell. All the old people going to Florida had no idea what was going on, and one old lady asked him if he was 50 Cent. Best flight attendant I've ever flown with by far.

You are assigned a letter and a number, so you board in a certain order but you can still take whatever seat you want given coach, first etc.

Southwest is awesome, I have always had good experiences with them. I would love to have that guy as a flight attendant.

There are industry/country-wide specs for maintenance and flight checks. Southwest is cheap because they manage their business well, and they invested a lot of their money in oil futures when it was really cheap.

Thats dope. Westjet is pretty legit too altho I find its hit or miss with flight attendents. Sometimes you get aweome ones who are laid back and sometimes you get the not so laid back ones.

ive literally never flown anything but southwest if southwest was an option. they are super sick, i have had the guy who came in 2nd at the national fight attendant comp (basicly who is most liked i guess) and also someone who sang the whole saftey thing to the barney theme song tune and put barney jokes in thier too. fun stuff.
