and believe me i know it says not to get drunk, or be a drunk, and various other versions of that idea.
hey, youre up there with one of the most reasonable "non-drinkers" i have ever met. its funny, im not sure where you are from, but i think really the main stigma about this is cultural/social. There have been studies done that you are less likely to get ahead in the business world if you dont go out and drink with your boss (which of course i dont condone). Something about somebody not wanting to partake or be a part of the crowd make the crowd uneasy.
I retire my argument from you, but I still regard those who make their decision off of nothing but trying to make a statement as...well... annoying for trying to make an unsubstantiated statement.
like when i was in middle school and kids were becoming vegetarians left and right almost exclusively because it was in vogue. most of those same kids now as educated adults have come to the consensus that you can be socially responsible and eat meat as well.
