this is a mounting question so if you arent a tech your opinion is not wanted or needed.

how close is too close for drill holes?  I want to have my toe or heel moved about 1 cm, FKS bindings...also, on FKS, would it be less bad to have an extra set of holes by the toe or heel?  which is under more pressure?

Are you going smaller/bigger? The only problem with moving the toe if going larger is that if the skis are center mounted you will end up with a midsole 0.5cm in front of center.

As for distance 1 cm center to center on the holes will be fine, with the FKS and tight mounting pattern on the heel I would suggest moving only the toe.

thanks a ton man...im going smaller, by moving the toe back that should put me .5cm behind true center, correct?

yea, pretty much. just a suggestion too, i would epoxy the old toe holes if theyre exposed...you dont want any water gettin into the core and rotting it.

yea i can confirm its a 1cm move. bringin u -.5 back from tru...

the guy actually covered it all, epoxy isnt nessisary but is reccommended to prolong the life of the core/give a lil strength back to the ski itself...try and make sure there is no water in the holes before epoxy is applied.

moving just the toe/the heel is always a good remmedy for a remount as it stops a ski from becomming swiss cheese faster than nessisary.

and yea i would 100% say move the toe and not the heel...the holes are already very close on the heel peice...

actually...i am holding a FKS toe peice in my hand right now and hole pattern doesnt look all that much bigger than the heel...but since there are more heel peice rip outs than toe...move the toe peice.

The rule is 1cm center to center minimum distance.
