Thoughs about Simon and Tom being on the same team

Sorry for the delay, but I can't put my finger on how I feel about this. Like, I am stoked Tom is in it, but the whole Level 1/ PBP collabo seems a bit weird, and by looking at the interviews, seems like they are a bit wierded out too.

Almost seems like Simon picked Tom so he could get a good reputation on NS?

why does it matter? yeah they have different styles and attitudes, but thats why they're shooting together to get the best of both, who wants to see another pbp style edit or a 4bi9 edit when they can just buy a dvd, it should be a new style of edit with both of their inputs and will be sick. DTS

You may be looking too far into this.

In my opinion, Simon wanted Tom on his team so he could ramp up the quality of the urban part of their edit.
This might be because of how much urban Sammy had last year, and because Simon doesn't kill it that hard when it comes to urban stuff.

I think he is talking about the interview with berman and hamlett...in which the awkwardness is the top filmer for PBP working with the owner of Level 1...which has to be awkward since they are competing companies.  I don't think it was awkward at all for Dumont and Wallisch...but like I already said...who cares

yes. that is the interview. I shoulda rephrased it, thoughts about tyler hamlet and berman, who are competitors in the industry. my bad.

But yes, that interview just kinda gave me the vibe that they were both in an awkward position, but since they are both awesome champions, made it work. Idk IMO

ARE YOU KIDDING? No pro skier care more than Simon what people think of him. He's been running around the past couple years trying to prove to everyone he isn't just a pipe skier... doing anything he can to get "street cred".

Not saying it's bad, since he has huge sponsors that expect him to be the most recognized skier in the sport, but for Simon there is a certain element of a popularity contest. Otherwise he most likely wouldn't have picked Tom, and he definately wouldn't be getting thug tips from Nick Martini.

Again, nothing against him, but he does care.

i dunno i think simon just thinks he is hot stuff and when he isn't with the trends he gets on it quick. i just don't think he makes decisions by thinking "If I do this will it make NS like me?!"
