there are tons of people that don't get recognition untill they are gone. you don't realize it until they arent there anymore. your just a stupid prick.

could also be that a lot of people here ski park a lot more than freeski and what not. so everyones on tanner and jon and simons dick because they are all freestylers before they are freeskiers.

Dude, he was one of the founding fathers of current big mountain freestyle skiing, and yea he was not in the spot light as much recently before his death, but he threw down back in the day, making the sport what it is today, and he deserves as much homage as people want to give. So STFU and GTFO!

think about it shane was ridiculous and i dont think a quarter of the people on this site had really seen him and then they give the typical response that everyone else gave im ready to get assanited for this but at least i give my honest opinion

That doesn't matter at all, I guarantee almost every person on NS had heard of Shane before he died, maybe they didn't follow him or watch his  movies, but they know he was an innovator in this sport, so that is plenty enough reason to show respect, and even if people didn't or don't know about him still, showing him respect like NS and all our members have spreads the word of what he did and who he was so his memory lives on

I understand what you are saying.   I honestly didnt kno much about him,  Mainly because he was popular before i started following skiing so closely.  But know that he is gone i have gone back and read about him and found out how much of an influence he had on the sport and hew will be missed.  R.I.P

Dude, just cus I didn't talk a ton about Shane doesn't mean I can't talk about him now.  He was one of my idols and he died.  I feel like I have the right to talk about how much it sucks that he died.  My bro cried when he found out he died.  It's not like everyone just randomly got on his dick.  I didn't know about Travis Steeger until I saw the story, but I still talked about it cus he was 19 and someone with that much talent shouldn't be taken from us so long.

i think you are a fucking douch bag why would he be talked about on this site when big mountain and such never really comes up but now people respect him more and if he was born in this genaration of skiing im sure he would be the tom wallisch,jon olsson,tanner hall, and simon dumont but if it werent for him and a few others the sport probably wouldnt be where its at right now

travis killed it and was crazy and yet there was probally one thread on him and nothing more came of it i feel shane should defiantly get closing segment in msp next film and have the pontoon named after him considering its his ski.

i'll admit, i didnt know him by name. i had seen him a lot in movie, heard his name for sure, but never knew him by name. and i knew that every time i saw his stuff, he amazed me.

so yeah, there are people that "didn't even know his name" untill he died. so what? i knew who he was, i knew what he meant to this sport, and it still hit me when he died. he was a father and a husband, he was fairly young, and he did what we all love to do. so if your going to say im on his dick because i didnt know his name, then fuck you.
