hey guys! there has been a fair amount of longboarding threads recently, but almost none that shed the light on this BALLER company. thier Legendary Longboards, and are made totally custom to your liking, they will change the size, flex, color, decal, ect. to exactly what you want on any of thier boards. just ordered a griffin and will post pics when it gets here! here are some pics of thier gnome board, a small commuter as well as some others:
so you have bombed hills at 40+ mph on a skateboard with no problems? ok....i agree that longboarding ISNT skateboarding, and i dont call myself a skateboarder...but it is just plain ignorant to associate all longboarders with hippy queers in hollister tshirts or like in the above picture. i bet i can find a picture of some fuckups on skateboards too if i do a google search.
if your anywhere near Marquette Michigan you should check out Presque Boards (pb). they'll make anything u want or you could just buy one of there already made boards. they have some good artists, they make some really sweet stuff. check it.
anyone who is that good at longboarding skates other kinds of terrain too. Usually on a shortboard! like transition or street. most good street skaters could hop on a longboard and be good at it anywase cause it's the same basics, just riding a shortboard is harder
and to all the people who say longboarders are a certain type of people, your retarted. most people use them for commuting and getting from point a to point b. everyone has to get somewhere, so why wouldnt every type of person use a longboard? i undertand most people use a car, but if the circumsances requer something like a longboard, anyone can use one. also, people use them for the thrill of speed.for skiers andsnowboarders there probabley the most low impact way to get a thrill out of going 40 mph on a road. cuz roads are everywhere, mtb trails and whatever else you would want to use for the thrill of going fast night not always be available. so what im trying to say is there are alot of different peope who need to commute or get a thrill, and they find the accesablity of longboards to be most suitable for them whether or not thier hollister hippies.
bump this old thread to show my board that i finally got after a month. and the silver does look out of place, but im going to cover it in ns stickers to make up for it! also newschoolers.com stickers in between the stripes on the grip, gana be sick. let me know what you think!
Just ordered my legendary griffin almosts a week and a half ago.. super stoked.. i will post pictures when i get it. does anyone know how long it usually takes when u order from legendary?
This is the longboard in the loaded newsleter last month, it is actually my brothers. Adam himself said to my brother that this is the best griptape job he has ever seen.
man that is sweeeeet! I have some blank board with trucks n everything I payed $60 for! I planned on buying new wheels and bearings after i recieved the board. The bearings have alot of play and the wheels are just soft oversized skateboard wheels
I am set for bearings but i need some help for wheel choices :(
I am looking for a wheel like in your pics (and the guy with the sweet tape job)
can anyone help me with brand/compay names that sell these wheels or even like what the type is called. PM me plz
the only reason i want new ones is that the board is not a smooth ride and needs to go faster! can never go too fast eh?
That's fuckin' sweet but I hope he just finished the complete board in those pics cause it looks mint.. would be a shame to see it sit around somewhere looking pretty..
loaded pintail.... my baby, the best carver ive ridden.
do yourself a favor and get it, reaaaaaally expensive but sooo fun, on the site it says it doesn't bomb hills at all but i bomb the same hills with the pinny that i do with my s9 bomber............ get the damn board!
indeed it is a gnome and thanks. i got it for my sister for her birthday. it took a month to arrive but well worth it. if it wasn't for this thread i would not even know legendary existed. good shit.
well u said to pm u, but im going to pot here just so the general public can see. the wheels i have are lime retro bigzigs. they are a great for cruising, sliding, basically anything and are wide so ride really smoothy. i would also recommend gumballs or 4presidents which are just as nice, just a different durometer, shape, size and color. chyeah! (sorry about spelling)
not to make any hate, but just so everyone considering buying a loaded board knows, they are more hype than anything else...i have had a dervish for 2 years and a vanguard for a little longer, and they sure are sweet, but i know for a fact there are tons of other boards out there for almost 1/2 the price that can out-perform loaded in many ways...my main beef with loaded boards is their lack of deep concave. they have a little, but without some legit griptape like vicious, you can slip off those boards so easily...i might be biased towards stiffer boards with more concave because i mostly race and do DH but IMO for the money you would be spending on a loaded, you could find a much nicer board that suits your needs.
i love the companies like longboardlarry and lengendary because they make sick boards custom tailored to your wants and needs, at an affordable price
definitly. What generates most of the hype IMO is their videos, which are sick, but what they do in them can be done on any decent board. Just consider that before making the vids your deciding factor, there are other smaller companies (legendary hint hint) that need your support as well!
I for one think that loadeds are probably worth it. I still have never ridden a board as sick as my friends vanguard. I ordered myself a dervish 2 days ago, super stoked!
