What is the absolute best binding?

I need to choose bindings, and I'm just wondering which binding is considered the best for freeskiing. I definitely want something that is light

Many people including me use the Salomon 810 bindings and love them. 912s are also great but more expensive and not much need unless you need a higher din setting.

bindings arent designed to be park specific just get a pair with high a high din like 12. look p12 i hear is awesome

I've been riding the Look P14 and I love them. 14 din so if you are 170+ then they kick ass.

salomons have a severe problem with pre releasing, and also the titanuim gets very weak when its cold.

Uh... the jib wide might have wider brakes? Donno. By the way the scratch 140 is the *best* binding for freeskiing... but not the lightest. And it doesn't have a noticeable advantage over the p12 jib or the scratch 100, depending on your weight.

wide has a wider brake for fat skis

^ The difference would be in how wide the brakes are, me thinks, a standard width for most punter skis, wide for powder skis (80-85mm and up, usually, varies).
I like the Rossi scratches, which are the same as the axials but without the lifter plate, I think, could be wrong. They are designed as a race binding, but lowering the foot gives less leverage to carve with, but makes landings easier.

there are basically 2 really good bindings the way i look at it. the look/rossi p10/p12/jib/120/140 (so many but pretty much all the same) and the salomon 810/912/ti (ti available in both, plus the 'pocket rocket 912ti comes w/wide breaks).
essentially 2 different bindings. the looks/rossi are better and more expensive bindings, as far as durability and probably safety goes. The salomons are lighter and cheaper. With the ti models, yes a titanium piece has been known to break but go to a shop if/when it does and instead of getting a titanium piece, ask for an aluminum one. they do make it. very little difference in weight, as the piece is very small.
saying all that, i prefer the lighter salomons. I have 810s on my 1080s and 912ti wide breaks on my pistols. The din doesn't go high enough for me (10.5) on the 810 so I have release problems, but the 912tis are amazing. Pick salomon if you care about weight and price, look/rossi if you care about durability and don't mind spending a little more.

I use Salomon S912-TI bindings. They're great and not to mention priced hella cheap- 250$usd for a brand new PAIR. Got em online from REI.

asking which binding is THE BEST for park would be like asking which ski is the best park ski. There's a number of really good bindings for park skiing, which is best is really a matter of personal preference.

There is a troublemaker binding. My friend rides on it and they are dope, but anything that looks like the look binding works, because heel pivot is really good to have.

no the 'troublemaker' binding is the look p12 jib and thatbinding is awesome, it sits flat on the ski for your boot to sit flat. i would say it is the best park and jib binding but probably the normal p12 would e best for big mountain

I would stay away form Salomon bindings they have a tendence to realse if you don't land a spin the right way. I switch from S7 10's to the Rossi Power 100's and i haven'y looked back they are amazing.

Anyone who rides a din at higher than 10 in the park are asking to break a knee. go with salomon 810 ti's.

810s break, prerelease and had the worst report of any major binding from consumer reports. plus, you should never have your bindings on maximum DIN. If you want a 9-10 DIN, get at least a max DIN 12 binding.

^yeah you should never have your DIN on the highest setting
i love p12's and they're really safe and never prerelease
anyone wanna trade movies for my brand new session 1242 or RFA?

^^^weiler, all metal bindings are way too heavy if you primarily ride park.

There is actually a difference between the look and Rossi bindings, something to do with toe release points, but I don't think it matters very much.

i dont think theres any difference i help all the, look jib, rossi scratch, dynastar tm, and they all had the same release points and looked identical, i know dynastar ownes look and i think rossi has some partnershit with look, but im almost positive they are exactly the same
i cant describe the vibe i get when i drive by 6 people and 5 i hit

look and rossi bindings are dangerous for park, if you back seat you could cop that binding right in the doot! that would suck.

Solomons are terrible, do not get them. They pre-release all the time, and fall apart. Look or Rossignols are the best. They are the same bindings, so its doesnt matter which. I have the Look P14s. But the P10s and P12s are great too.

I love my solomon's if they are set up right you should not have any prerelease problems. It is a good design. I have p 10's also and although the solomons are getting pretty beat i still like them better.
