all props vibes and karma to SteezyOhio for the idea. first and foremost, he is to get all respect for this.

we should have a month in the honor of Shane. in the month that he was taken from us. he was the man, the myth, the legend of freeskiing. he held the credit of the last Freeze cover ever, he pioneered the rocker ski, he was the first crazy fuck to huck cliffs with a parachute. i dont care which one of you NSers says, "oh come one guys this hero worship has gone to far". it has not. he is the Tony Hawk of freeskiing. i quit racing because of him. many others have been influenced to let their wild side out because of him. for what he has given to all of us the least him and his little girl and his wife deserve is a whole fucking month dedicated to the memory of Shane McConkey.

its the least we can do. if youre with me, post in this thread.

definitely man. the first time i saw anyone jump off a cliff on a parachute was watching him. It was epic, i couldn't believe it. he was so inspirational, leading the way. the mans a legend

A month?

Not to hate or anything, but that is a bit much...

Why not a day, or a weekend? That is a lot more memorable, and people will remember him a lot better, than having a McConkey month. I am not hating whatsoever so dont get upset, and be E-ThUg!!!1

Lets just dedicate a weekend to him, where everyone pulls out there Pontoons, and pretends to jump epic cliffs. That is a lot better. And dedicate a party to him!

But i still believe a month is a bit much. Allows too much room for people to forget. This isnt black history...

yeah a month is a bit much. not that he doesnt deserve it but a day or week would be much more memorable. or just the first powder day of the season so that we can huck cliffs! (everyone will have different first powder days so well have multiple RIP shane days!!)

I mean, even have your own day. When everyone goes and skis some backcountry, and party it up... go campin or somthing!

naw by mcconkey march i really just think ns should throw up the background they have now or multiple backgrounds of our beloved shane

as for dedicating time to him, i think the first weekend of march is where its at, considering my local resort was only open till the first weekend of march, and we close early, then everybody can respect him and go out for 3 days and shred their resort/backcountry/backyard set up/ sand dunes (keeping all skiers in mind haha)

buy mcconkey march, the first full weekend of march thats all i thought, then just keep him in mind with a saucer boy background

haha E-Thug. word i was just a bit drunk and unhappy yesterday. i see now that month is logistically impossible, but its the idea of dedicating some day or some time to him. so yeah, a weekend, a few days. sounds about good.
