Absinthe

Alright this is my final image in my 6-7 alcohol advertisement series I did for school. I will post them all sometime soon. However I'm quite pumped about this shoot. I didnt think it would be possible to do, neither did my teacher, yet I pulled it off. It not due till Monday, so I can make some changes. Any ideas? The only thing I'm not sure about it the text. The text lost a lot of its 3d-ness in the low res btw.

Yeah its pretty sick fo sho. The only thing i don't particularly like is the girl. It looks too much pasted in there. I'd soften those edges up and also her foot is squared off on the end.

But over all good job.

That looks sick but the huge problem is that the glass isn't an Absinthe glass.  You need a shot glass with an Absinthe spoon over it.  Drinking that much Absinthe would just kill you.  And drinking it out of a glass over ice like that would just be impossible.

Oh also you spelled it "absinthe" in the text but the label on the bottle clearly says "absinth" without the e

one thing i noticed is that Absinth on the bottle has no "e" while the writing on the ad does. just putting it out there.

Not quite.
There are few different methods. The czech way is the most common. That is with the spoon, sugar and fire. It fun to do, however this is the French way. 1 part absinthe, 2 parts water with ice or having water drip on to sugar.

Thats weird I've never seen it done any way other than just putting the sugar cube on the spoon and pouring a shot through it.  I've had Absinthe in France too.  It seems like that would be pretty gross.  Absinthe is pretty gross anyway though, its like the demon offspring of Jeagermiester and Bacardi 151.

Google the history, its pretty interesting.

This bottle was not bad. I bought this went I was in the Czech Republic. They added a bit of mint to it. However I bought a bottle of classic stuff, and that was pretty... strong.

Jeagermiester = Tasty. Mmmm...

My friend once gave me absinthe on a monday afterschool in a nalgene.  Having no clue it was 75 percent i drank 200-300 ml's of it and passed the fuck out for 2 hours.

i didn't think you can still get legit absinthe anymore. the kind with wormwood in it which had the hallucinogenic properties to it.

I've got a pump that screws into the top of the giant sized bottle, and a little orange bucket to put the bottle in so it doesn't spill.

It'd be sick to have one of those Jeager on tap machines though.  If you had a few hundred bucks to blow.

looks good except for the font. Try a different style and blend it in so it glows like the rest instead of sticking out like a sore thumb.

Actually legit Absinthe with wormwood in it was re-legalized a few months ago, you can get it again.  Drinking Absinthe is sort of pointless though, to get to the point where it makes you hallucinate you have to drink so much that you'd probably be hallucinating anyway.

I'm going to come back into this thread later when I'm drunk I think.

Absinthe is a sweet drink.  Double distilled is illegal here. we only have the 77% version.

absinthe does taste fucking gross, way to herbal/rubbing alcohol for me. But it feels so good. I'm looking at an empty bottle of it in my room right now lol

some liquor stores by me (milwaukee, wi) have absinthe now. it's only been in for a year or so, but it's legal. not sure if it has the wormwood oil in it, but they've proven that you would die from alcohol poisoning before you could drink enough to hallucinate from it. it's just a different kind of drunk because it's frickin strong.

and i say keep the 'e' in your ad. although the bottle spells it differently, it's foreign and that's how they spell it in parts of europe. great idea and you really pulled it off well!

The style of the text isn't too fitting with the rest of the picture. The text is giving off a weak vibe to me. It needs to be bigger, too.

and why would that be? because absinthe with wormwood in it is illegal in the U.S.? so if I said I had some weed, I wouldn't be in the U.S. either  cause its illegal?

but I brought back 2 bottles of it from holland last time I was there lol

The wormwood is what makes you hallucinate. If it doesnt have it in it then its just alcohol. Every time I drank it I had the equivalent of 5 shots. Its twice as strong as tequila in terms of % alcohol. They do sell the non-wormwood in the U.S.. Btw it comes in varying strengths

and to the dude that asked about if it was sketchy bringing it back, I just wrapped the bottles in towels and put it in my check in bag. I had no problems, and on the form they give you to declare what you brought back to the U.S. just say you are bringing souvenirs.

by writing hallucinate I didn't mean straight up seeing shit. I just used it to describe the effects that it gave because I couldn't think of a better word.  Definitely not drunk even though it is pretty strong alcohol.
I was saying that wormwood is what actual gives the effects that absinthe is known for. The whole green fairy thing from eurotrip is not true.
