End sexism in contests

I had a great idea just now. Girls and guys skiing has been seperated in terms of skill for a long time. Something needs to be done to get it on the right track! Soooooooooo, END THE SEXISM! Instead of X-games girls and guys events, lets combine em! That way, for like, superpipe, no more girls and guys events, just one big ski superpipe event.

Obviously, the girls arent goingto be going as high or doing as great tricks, so something like a handicap would be imposed on the guys so that the girls have a real chance against Tanner. But wouldnt that be cool?!?! A girl could beat out Dumont for the overall pipe contest and we could show the rest of the world that our sport is the lone one where gender doesnt make a difference!

the only unfair thing about skiing right now is that women are getting sponsored and rewarded, for the same shit 12 year old boys are throwing down for nothing but the fun of it.

i have an idea, how bout you girls start progressing in your own competitions and when you start doing doubles out of the pipe you can come hang with us. than there wold be no need for a handycap which would fuck up the whole judging system.

since so many people are against it maybe the women could compete with the blist of pro men? that way there is still the so called 'real' competition in the mens

If a chick wanted to compete in a mens competition, I'd bet the comp would let it happen, so long as she could be graded the same as the men. If you want to compete in a mens comp, try it. But don't be surprised if you don't win anything.

there relay isn't a B list. and as someone said a few posts above me if a woman wanted to compete in one with the men, theres nothing stopping them. i just think a handycap will literally fuck up the whole sport.

haha next year that kid could probably win half of womens competitions.. Many of the womens competitions end up with no pop 360's and many times 270s off a 15 foot jump.. hence why we got rid of that category..

and I couldnt even listen to the music on that video, cant stand girl singers either..

sure, whatever - put the girls with the guys in the competition... it will destroy competitive skiing on the girl side of things. but if that's what you really want - it will mean more prize money for the skier dude that wins.

you don't like winning money for doing 540's and would rather come in dead last? ok. have fun.


and shit - give me a big enough handicap in golf and I could kick that shit out of Tiger Woods, but you know - that wouldn't make any sense, a lot like this thread.

Sounds to me like you think that girls and guys should be combined in the x games. Since the girls cant do as good of tricks you would give them a handicap so they could compete against guys like tanner and simon. you think its sexist.

really though. women are more than welcome to compete against guys. we would just get killed by the competition.  i think it would be legitimate to say that some great women skiers would be pretty unknown if this was the only way for us to compete.  and please don't tell me that you think lack of competition is why girls haven't progressed as fast.  we should be happy that we have our own comps and that girls are starting to throw down harder; it at least gives women a chance.

and why the hell would you want to "handicap" the world's greatest freeskiers. nothing would progress.

Makes you wonder who the Ftards were who thought up Title Nine and the bazillions spent on womens sports - when all it would have taken is a simple handicap system.  I would support co-ed wrestling and maybe a handicap when the chick weighs less than 300lbs.

if you wanted to end sexism in contests, then it would just mean that no girls would ever make it past qualifying rounds, until one of them steps it up.

adding a handicap would keep it sexist, just in a different way. on top of that, it would make it less likely that people would watch, bringing in less money, taking away from the possibility for prize money.

That just would never work, no offense girl. Like people have said previously..there's a reason there are separate leagues and whatnot in different sports. We're just different. Yeah don't get me wrong it's AWESOME to be able to shred with guys on a normal basis to progress and whatnot..but in a comp it just wouldn't work..plus I think girls enjoy competing against other girls. I dunno. I would hate to have to compete against guys. Then again, I'm not a feminist haha.

P.S. If you're sensitive, I doubt you'll last long here. Don't take NS seriously. Especially when people are clearly joking about something..

I'm glad you paid such close attention to my run. Because i'm pretty sure i hit all the rails, the first jump and the last one in my runs. I did a switch 1 over the first one, not a 180 of the knuckle. And i hit the last jump every run all day. So please stop hating and get yer facts straight.

I dont see it as sexism...girls compete at a different level so far..and until girls go 30 feet or whatever it isin the pipe it just wouldnt be fun to watch it combined..
