Classic or touch

im getting a new ipod soon was wondering what are the pros and cons on the classic ipod and the ipod touch those are the two i am deciding between thanks

Classics are easier to skip songs while shuffling and they are cheaper
Touches are easier to change volume and have dope games
I bought a touch and am very happy with it

the ONLY disadvantage it has to the classic is that it doesn't have like 250GB of storage....not like you'll ever fill it up anyways.

classic can store way more music.

you can put a bunch of apps on the touch, it has wifi, and you can jailbreak it (or whatever its called) and put other stuff on it.

Kind of depends on what you want it for.  I have a classic 80GB ipod that basically serves as my stereo and backup hard drive.  Basically all I need it to do is play music.  My brother uses the Wi-Fi, applications, music, etc. to no end and doesn't have a large library, so the 8GB touch is all he needs.

i've had the classic since it's release date, and its fucking awesome.

I got a touch when i bought my laptop this summer, and it lost it's novelty in about 3-4 weeks. I also have like 50 gigs of music so i needed the big HD in the classic.

Also the classic is fucking bombproof.

if you dont have a lot of songs/movies and like games get the touch...

so its not disgusting on the touch but it is on the classic? idk bigger screen on the touch helps for watching movies on rides too. thats another reason to get the touch. i love mine but i wish i went 32gb instead of 16...

if you're using it just as an ipod then by all means get a classic, it's easier to control without looking at it and stuff, like you can find everything just on the clickwheel. but if you want better movie watching, games, internet, more entertainment in general then get a touch, i love mine

it depend how much music you have, if you have more music than 32 gigs will hold, then in my opinion you have to get the classic. I have almost 10,000 songs and that wont fit on the touch, so i love my classic. you basically get almost endless storage on it. But if itll all fit on the touch, def get it. that thing is ridiculous and id kill for one that could hold all my music and shit

If you want it for just music and capacity, classic.

If you want a PDA + music, touch.

im a classic kinda guy, but i have 55 gb a music and counting

the classic is striaght up music

the touch is small, not a lot of music. but you also get wifi and apps and what not. the touch is good if you dont have a lot of music.

Do you know what a PDA is? you dont need to be online to operate the calendar, notes, contacts apps, or most games...i still find it plenty useful when i dont have the wifi on.

touch is better for watching movies but is pricey fragile and cant hold as much. classic is fine for watching movies has tons of storage plus the tried and true click wheel. id say base you rdecision off of how much music you have. if you have more than 16 gb dont pay 400 for a 32 gig touch that you could break get the classic. if your library is smalll get the touch

yea id have to agree with ryno, not so fragile. just get an invisible shield from www.zagg.com and your all set with scratching and then get a hard case for dropping/small amounts of water damage.

my touch has been through hell and it still looks great

you need to get a hard case that covers the back of it, something low profile and light, and then you need microfilm for the screen. if you get those you can preserve your touch so well

its definitely more fragile than the classic, i mean the whole tings a screen, and im sure anyone whose ever broken a phone knows how easy it is to break screens

the screen is different material from a phone. my touch has been dropped out of car several times as getting out and it can still probably sell as "used for 10 hours out of box then got bored" and I got it last xmas

if you want to just listen to music and watch smaller movies get a classic... i got a 120 gb classic and i have 11987 songs and 90 complete movies..i love it i just put on random and listen to it all my girlfriend has a touch and she loves that because she likes the app store and the internet and all that stuff you cant do with a regular ipod.. i prefer the classic but thats also because i have so much music..

They just officially released skype for ipod touch, but fucking Canadian regulations bans its from Canada, we are the only country out of all countries with ipod touch, so lame. Some lawyers better be at work

Well since i am always on campus i always have my ipod touch connected via wifi. With much lower fees with skype i can use it instead of my cell. Note this only works for the newer ipod touches with the speaker.

if your buying an ipod for the music then go with the classic thats what its best at

if ur buying an ipod for everythig get the touch its more entertaining

you dont need to keep more than 16 gigs of music on your ipod, you can switch around what songs you want on itunes. i love my touch so much

i got the classic as a graduation gift and the touch w/ my computer. i ended up never using the touch after about a month and sold it to some kid in my dorm.

and yes, i've dropped my classic a shit ton of times and it still works flawlessly

it all depends on what type of person you are:

if you love music and have a ton of songs on your computer and need lots of memory on an ipod: classic

if you have a reasonable amount of music but want some sick games: touch

FOR SURE GET A TOUCH....best choice i have made....it is the most fun thing i have ever bought...makes study hall fly by....definitly get it Videos are a lot better on the touch....I have a 32G and I have no shortage of space.....I also found a site that allows you to watch full length videos of you know what on your ipod, best part is you wont have to worry about messin up your comp because its your i pod and i doubt you can get viruses on it....
