Comments about karma

I dont know if you can already do this, if so can someone inform me where to. But, I think it would be nice to be able to write a little commment on why you gave someone positive or negative karma. Just so the only person who can view it is the person who left the comment. Like if I think someone was really helpful and gave them +10, I want to be able to put a little tag on it so if I click on their name again I can see that they helped me. Which works in the opposite, if I gave someone bad karma, why I did. Like if they were jacking threads or if they were a bad person to buy or sell with.
Just want a little reminder for myself on who did what, that only I can see when I click their name.

I like the idea.  doesnt even have to be linked to karma, but could just be a small comment box, where you could throw like a word or short sentence such as "helped with a trick" or "supported me with something"

Don't worry about karma.  Just write quality posts, help people, be funny, don't spam, follow forum rules, and be nice.

If you worry about karma you will lose sight of the true intent of karma, which is to promote a healthy forum and website.

If everyone's profile there is a tab called "feedback", which was created originally for buyers and sellers to leave remarks on how the transaction went, though now it is used in a broader context of positive contributors.

Yeah I use feedback but if I just notice someone is being an ass or if someone I know had a bad experience with the person, I want to just put a little thing like, "dont buy from him" and the reason why.
It doesnt have to be linked to karma, just a little footnote or something. Like there are a few people on here who helped me a ton and I want to add a note to them that would say like, "hook them up when you can". Because if I give them +10 karma and down the road forget their name or it changes, I still want to be able to remember them.
I just wanted to see how other people felt about this idea.

Karma is easily the funniest thing on this site
I help lots of people out on gear talk and stuff and my karma very slowly rises
then god forbid i voice my opinion and someone doesnt agree
BAM back down to no karma haha i guess being nice just doesnt amount to enough
how some of the members on this site have any karma at all ill never figure out

haha yeah i have spells where my "others rate me" goes up a ton and then i voice my opinion in 1 thread and it goes back to the beginning
i can't imagine how many people must have me at 0/10

my karmaz go up anyway even if others don't rate me at all it just goes up
i stopped paying attention to it tho, i used to monitor it a little but now i don't care

And my karma isn't high because I don't have pictures or videos of skiing related shit (well because I don't really get to ski much because of where I live)
I think that is where karma is primarily calculated (pics/videos/reviews/blog etc)

I'm not going to put shit up just for the sake of it (or to increase my 'karma' hehe)

I don't care at all, it's just interesting. Karma basically reflects how much you contribute to the site - post a sick video and if it gets rated well then i'm sure your karma would skyrocket

i don't upload lots of pics or vids but my karma steadily goes up a few hundred points a day

i do post A LOT though and you get karma for posting, just overall contribution

My karma isnt high because of this as well. I dont ski to film shit. I ski to have fun, I could care less about people knowing who I am and what not. I sell shit on here for rediculously low prices and since the feedback has been added it kind of reflects that. But, the one person that I hook up giving me a 10/10 doesnt outweigh the 10 people who give me a 0/10 for not trading a pair of beat pants, a single bent pole, and twelve stickers for new a pair of bacons or something that Im selling. Karma doesnt always reflect a persons legitness.
But, thats not really the point of this thread. It kinda got side tracked. I just want to add a person comment on people. Like he is a shit head poster but is still legit to buy from, or he is very legit hook him up, etc.

yeah i find that funny i too give 0 or 10
know giving someone a 6 or 7 just lowers their karma because chances are their average is higher than 6 so 10 is my way of guaranteeing that their karma will go up
i know the system is really corrupted but I still like to support people who are helpful
i think feed back should be used a lot more too
(sorry for quoting your post in every thread derek i know you hate it but we were just talking about this haha)

I know what you mean becuase a lot of people's aveage rating in their profile is a 7 or 8 so if your giving the person a 7 well it just lowers it. I too give out 1's or 10's

Im going to bump this. With all of the scamming lately it would be nice to be able to tag the names of the people so I know not to deal with them again. Just having 0 karma on them doesnt tell me they are dead beat scammers.

Its funny my friend is a huge noob that made a thread on ski gabber that said I like skiing becuase I told him you talk about skiing in SG. His karmas higher than mine and he has like 10 posts haha
