Vaporizers are generally good. Most will give you a high that isn't necessarily better, but definitely different than what you're used to. On the other hand, some will truly suck and leave you saying "is this thing even on, I don't feel shit". To make a generalization, the more money you put into it, the higher you'll get, and if you're not willing to drop at least $200, it's probably not worth it. Sure, you could get a little woodbox vape for 60 bucks, but if you're going class, then get some real class.
Vaporizers either have whips or bags. Whips are like a hookah hose, the vapor glides up the tube and you just leisurely rip it, let it regenerate, and repeat. If you're getting one with a whip, you definitely want one that's glass on glass, meaning the base of the whip, where the bud goes, and the inside of the vape are both glass. With vaporizers, every little but of quality goes a long way. If you get one with a bag, like a Volcano, they fill up all at once, so you wait longer, but then don't have to wait in between rips. Bags will give you the visual satisfaction of watching your bud cream and remind you of "real" smoke.
Vaporizers taste great and really bring out the flavor of your herb. They leave your weed looking brown, almost rusted. In my opinion, vaped weed smells like burnt popcorn, so if odor of smoking is an issue, it would be eliminated. However, keep in mind, vaporizers are a novelty to an extent. Sure, you'll fucking love your vape to death, and you'll love how high it gets you, but nothing will ever replace a fucking blunt. I found myself sitting with my vape just unhappily sitting there puffing, thinkinf, "wow, I just want to feel smoke, real fucking smoke".
Bottom line, if you've got the money and feel like treating yourself, do it. Research it, and honestly, you cannot fucking go wrong with a Volcano, it's the best. You'll probably smoke it occassionally, and not everyday like you might be thinking yah will. Either way, they're definitely different, and they'll expose you to a different side of smoking, or vaping, for that matter
