Help a guy out! rate/critique/bag my photography!

sorry no idea whats going on with 4-8 size wise.

+K for anyone who knows how to fix sizing problems - they kinda look shit

looks all good, check it im not sure but 3, and 7 look out of focus, and in 3 i would have gone for a large depth of field, colors are all good
pic 4 is very good, imo, always a big fan of shallow depth of field on face and shoulder shots
but from what im scopeing they look good man, good job
wish it was still freakn ski season in ohio, damn it ha

1 is a pretty standard and commonly shot image, you framed it well but the entire top left corner is blown out so that kinda ruins it.

2  is a rad image but a different angle would have helped a lot. Ass shots are useless and on top of that you arn't able to see the takeoff at all. As a viewer I have no idea if the pipe was 10 feet or 20 feet, if the wall was shitty or if it was perfectly groomed. You need to have some portion of the wall in the image to give an understanding of how high the skier is and how difficult the trick and whatnot would be. Also, some off camera flashes will do wonders for action photos because in this image the skier is very flat, a flash going off on him would make him pop out in the image and make it much stronger

3 is again a kind of stock image, at first i thought you had a flash posted on the tree until I realized there was a set of spotlights below it... that throws the whole image off for me because dispite seeing that it was spotlights and not a random flash, its all I can think about when I look at it

4 is the best shot of the bunch, crisp and well framed. You must have shot it at a higher ISO because when i downloaded the larger image it was pretty grainy, but at the size you posted and even slightly bigger it looks sick

5-8 the framing is just too tight on the skiers. You really get no sense of the action or the scene at all.



none of that was meant to be harsh or mean or anything so please dont take anything the wrong way, I'm just trying to give my honest and constructive opinion on the images

my favorites are 4 and 6.
i especially like 6 for the angle and color of the the jacket

and yea thats buttermilk and snowmass - was there for x games. soooooo sick

when taking pictures try to avoid shooting directly at the sun ( washes out the white ) 1st one especially. If you absolutely have to get the shot use a UV filter or a polarizer filter to tone down the brightness of the sun. But other than that awesome pics!!!!
