some1 should update newschoolers so that when u leave a comment on a page it appears at the top of the first page, still under the owners first comment though

this would work like youtube comments work     ask a question if your confused

well, you wouldn't have to scroll down everytime you want to see a new post. i think it would be a good change

If you are talking about reversing the order for posts in threads, then think about how many threads have a standard progression from start to finish

Someone asks a question and then the answers elaborate on each other to arrive at a conclusion

If you reversed it, it would be like reading a book backwards.

wed have to use a v instead of a ^ thingy. and itd would defeat the whole purpose of claiming first because no one would look at it.

I hate youtube comments because if you reply to or refer to someone before you, the reader has to jump below that post to see what you're quoting. It's a mess.

This way on NS is like a timeline. If you want to see the recent stuff just click on the page number beside the thread at the end. It's like reading a book. That's why the Chad's gap thread is so amazing. It's got setting, plot, conflict, resolution, and afterstory. Could you even imagine reading that backwards?

Good idea, but I don't want to see it put in place. Sorry.

threads and comments are totally different. I can't think of a single message board that uses reverse order for threads. Messages are meant to be read in order...and honestly reading from the bottom up I find annoying

I agree.  It is a good idea because you wouldnt have to scroll down (especially because as of now if you just whip your mouse wheel it will scroll all the way to the bottom of the logged in users list on the left), but it would be confusing.

therefore, i suggest that the online list on the left be made into like 3-4 columns that way a thread with like 8 posts, you dont scroll to the bottom to see ~howie~ or _G_......or just make it so you can click a link that goes straight to the last post.

I really like it the way it is, I think that changing around the order of it would get mad confusing. Although, one interesting answer to this that I thought of would be to make the "last reply" column in the forum clickable, and have it bring you the last post. Unnecessary in my opinion, but I think that it would be the best way to do it if people really think that its that big  of a problem.

think about how much some threads change from start to finish
