As much as i get the urge to listen to a song, i feel that you know you have a good musician on your hands when you can listen to the whole album with out tire.
Currently my favorites include:

firstly, this is a quality thread.

i have to say #1 for me is Abbey Road by the Beatles. I have my mom's old LP from when she was a teenager, and sitting in my room listening to Abbey Road on vynil is probably one of my favorite things to do.

I'm Wide Awake It's Morning--Bright Eyes

Give Up--the Postal Service I never would have thought to list this, but i was reminded by the other posters, and really, it's true, i love this album.

The Execution of All Things--Rilo Kiley

Cherry Peel--Of Montreal it's my chill driving around in summer album

Dark Side of the Moon--Pink Floyd, just epic.

Life in Cartoon Motion--Mika. it's not really substantial, but SO fun.

Good News For People Who Love Bad News--Modest Mouse this album always reminds me of the ocean for some reason

Neon Bible--Arcade Fire

Chutes Too Narrow--The Shins. this album is just...I mean, it's Chutes Too Narrow.


Also, this Elliot Smith album I found on my friend's computer. i have looked through his discography and haven't been able to tell which one it was, but it is just the perfect album, i can't listen to those songs singularly anymore because they just flow so well together, so if it IS a mix, whoever made it is a genius.




I love listening to albums all the way through, it really is how music was made to be listened to. I have most of the above on vinyl because that way it doesn't get chopped up, I dunno, I just like putting a record on and taking the whole journey of the album.

this guy is a local hip hop artist and he has some great stuff for listening for skiing.  his artist name is L.S and you can find him on itunes.  i recomend looking at the In This Life album.
