Why is the searchbar so useless?

I almost can't blame anybody for not using the searchbar. The results are bs. The old search was much better and more accurate. Bring it back please.

advanced search doesnt search for anything other then words in a title of a thread. Which if you cant get the wording right is pretty useless.

I agree, there is no reason to be using Google's "hit count" system for NS, especially for people who are looking for specific threads that may not get as many searches. It should be sorted by date/relavancy not popularity. The advanced search is great but it only searches titles. for such an innovative site you would think that the search would be a lot better. if you want to see a really well built dynamic site just go to Freeskier. everything is categorized and searchabe/taggable. very well done.

advance search for sure, i don't understand why it doesn't display the number of replies for each of the threads though, kind of annoying imo,

Wrong.
Advanced Search = good answer and what I was looking for. Quoted reply = better answer and what should be done to improve the site.
