That's where Mac users (myself included) all get taken for a ride. I'm a pc man for like but being a music school requires that I have a Mac laptop.

Who honestly wants a 17 inch laptop.. Idono about you but I have a laptop because they are PORTABLE. If I wanted to lug around a tank, I would have joined the army.

i saw that on the tv yesterday. fuck it. I love my mac. I love my pc. I wanted a Macbook Pro for the speed, however the screen was too big. I wanted a 13.3in screen. So I got a blackbook. "I want a 17in laptop but the only one is over 2g's, and they only have 1 laptop under 1'g." If you want a mac, but bitch about the price.
They are worth it.

A majority of the people that own macs dont need them... you can't buy a cheap mac laptop, but you can buy a cheap windows based one.

For those who dont need graphics based laptops, PC's do just about everything anyone could ever need.

And although macs and viruses are hardly spoken of, PC users just need to be smart.

The mac trend is definitely taking over, and people (especially now) need to be smart with what they buy.

my friend has the hp she ends up picking in the video and i hate using it, the trackpad is sticky, the whole thing feels like cheap plastic and its AMD

Its kinda sad when all PC companies are attacking one brand of laptops.. and it looks like they realized lauren looked like an idiot who wanted a tank, so they came back with another one where the guy claims he knows computers to add a little bit of credibility to their ads.

that advert is retarded, "im drawn to the look of this one" of course all computer illertarte retards should buy pcs, there cheaper and they wont know the difference, that advert proved nothing to the people that will buy a mac because of what it does, and the people that buy a mac because they think its cool will still buy one anyway

lol those arnt fancy words at all.. most of the people bitching about these pc ads are prolly typing their responses on a pc.. they can even afford a mac... and they are prolly all in HS and want mommy and daddy to buy it cause thats what the jones' have... a pc with 4gb of ram and x64 bit system flys with a quadcore processor from amd.. and if you get it for $1099 like the guy did.. whats wrong with that? cause it doesnt have a glowing apple on the front to let everyone know "ive got a mac!! i am possibly artsy and creative"

btw not everyone who owns a mac bought it to look cool in fact my "glowing apple" is covered with a giant NS sticker I'd rather rep NS than Apple and I love my MacBook...

technically you could, as you can get the mac OS to run on most parts, it's just difficult and unstable. I have no problem with mac users, i just hate how people think they are "faster and better," when they aren't. I could build a PC for more then half the price of a mac, that destroys it in benchmarking.

Well, really you can run OS X on any compatible motherboard...since they went the the X86 platform.
Benchmarking isn't everything though.
Most people I know who own a Mac do so because of the software and seamless operation of the OS.
Know how many drivers I've had to hunt down and install on my Mac? Zero.

Apple makes really good computers.  Companies, like Asus, Sony, etc, also make really good computers.  Fundamentally, they are all the same.  What it really comes down to is the operating system, and that just depends on what you need, and your preference.  Personally, I don't think either Vista or OS X is any good...wooooo Linux.

Yeah, these commercials are stupid, and so are the Apple ones.

Exactly.
It comes down to which OS you want/need to accomplish your computing goals.
Linux is awesome, and very powerful depending on the build, but it takes quite a bit more technical knowledge to run than most people have, or are willing to go about obtaining.
Mac is extremely simple OTB, but also very powerful if you know how to use it.
Windows works best in a business/networking environment.

It's really just healthy competition for the markets, which is the real economic stimulus.

The whole operating system is IMO 10000 times better than windows. Also, final cut studio is so much more baller than the adobe suite, IMO.
